Hi All
I have a 3 stone princess cut ering that I want a new setting for. My center is 1.04, and each side is .44 -
the stones seem to blend together and the setting doesn't have a huge wow factor. I would like to find a fabulous new setting for all 3 stones. ANY SUGGESTIONS?????????

thank you in advance!

In my opinion, three stones of all the same shape DO tend to blend together, unless the center stone is much larger than the sides. Is there any way you could swap out the side princesses for trillions? Or would that be too much extra $ ?

Something like this really highlights the center stone....

Thank you for the suggestions. Im so torn on what to do.
First, I wanted to just swap out my 1.04 center for a 1.5 - 2. as I thought that would do the trick.
Then I talked to the place we got my ering and they said i would have to get a whole new setting as the setting was specifically made to hold the 1.04 center and it wont hold a larger one. :(
So then i thought i'll just get a new setting for all 3 stones.
my ring honestly looks like the ritani one you showed me. Maybe i'm just crazy, i just wanted a larger center.
I want it be and to be WOW and to me it just blends with the other too.
I dont know what to do.

if these are keeper stones, and no upgrades at all, I would consider haloing the center and just keeping the sides unhaloed. I haven't seen princess like this yet, or I've missed it, but I've seen some really pretty rounds that just pop imo when the center is haloed, flanked by single sidestones.

The truth is that with the size of your stones and the proportions, it's just going to blend together. I have a friend who has a 1.5 and two .75s on either side and it looks as you are describing. I don't think a new setting will help change that factor, without changing the shape or size of the sidestones.

Is there an exchange policy on the diamonds where you got your ring? maybe you could trade in your sidestones for another shape or even smaller sidestones and a bigger center? Or you could remove the sidestones, make earrings out of them and do a pretty solitaire or halo to highlight your center stone.

There are lots of options! :appl:

Have you though of doing the Tacori 2620 or 2828 for a princess? The slight halo gives the ring more finger presence without
a big halo. The 2628 has really interesting cut (cadillac cut) stones. It would give you a different more substantial look
without changing your stone.

The other thing I like about the tacori's is if you get the 18K version, which is much cheaper, they will replate it for you for the
life of the ring for free.

here are a photo from Tacori-maybe you could have your sidestones set in earrings?

If you want the coverage of a three stone but you feel like your center stone is getting lost would you consider sapphire side stones? I'm sure you don't want to loose that extra bling but it's one way to make your center stone stand out. You could do what others suggest and use your current sides as studs. If your not open to colored stones, I second the Tacori recommendation. I think the smaller accent stones will make for a better pop. I like a setting like the Tacori one for you because it pumps up your center stone and makes it the star.

If that's the picture of your setting it looks pretty WOW to me. Perhaps what you are looking for is a larger solitaire?

I love this idea! I often hold a pair of garnet studs up to my threestone to admire how BIG the centrestone looks between them - diamond sidestones definitely take away from your centrestone size, but IMO coloured stone sides (esp. darker sides) make it look positively gargantuan, bigger even than as a solitaire! :naughty:

Giant? My stone is no giant - not anymore, anyway!.. funny how that happens :halo:

I like the Carrera one better than the etsy on personally, but I like the tacori one even better. There used to be a poster
here who had a Tacori 2628 with a round stone. I can't remember her name and I can't find it but her name was similar to mine.
Does anyone remember her. She had some gorgeous pics that I saved on my computer until it crashed.

I think I like it better because it had a more delicate look. The etsy ring you posted is pretty but the style looks a bit dated to
me. I could be wrong about that but it is just my reaction to it. The carrera would be blingy with really nice diamonds in the setting.
I do love the bling. I really used to go for the wider band look, but since I had my own ring made in a more delicate style
I have really grown to enjoy the look.

i think this is one of the most beautiful rings i have ever seen -- love the halo on the center with the plain sidestones!!!

+ 1 on the sidestones to earrings idea (they would be pretty big earrings too!).

+ 1 to the colored sidestones idea as well, if no halos.

And -1 to halo for all 3. The side halos will increase finger coverage, but not increase the pop of the center diamond. I'd go with either a single halo around the center, or just sidestones, but 3 halos might make the 3 diamonds look like pave as well (because princess = pinfire, and pave = pinfire, so it would just be a mass of pinfire, which would increase finger coverage, but not make the center diamond look bigger, it would make it blend into the pave, IMO).

General rule for increasing poppage is to have the thinnest band possible (think 1.5mm kind of width). General rule for increasing finger coverage is to have the widest part of the diamond perpindicular to your finger. For a princess (square), the widest part of the diamond would be ... the diagonal. How about something like D&T's kite-set princess (but with a thinner band)?

STUNNING
