Hi all - as I've posted before about two specific stones, I figured it would also be helpful if I posted what I generally was looking for and see if anyone could offer any help. I am looking for a round stone at about 1.2 ct to be set on a platinum solitaire band. I am trying to stay below $8500 total. I'd like to stay at H or above in color and at least SI1 for clarity. I'm trying to get the best quality cut for my budget. I realize that I could possibly go down in ct size, get a very good cut, but still have the diamond show bigger than its actual carat weight. I'm asking for any help/suggestions of what to look for in the numbers that go into a well cut diamond while staying in my budget. I want this thing to have great light performance! Thanks a lot.
