I am pleased for you that it has worked out so well. Neil is a good man to have checking your stones since you can depend on him to do a thourough and competent job.
I am also pleased for your jeweler that they stood up so well to their obligations and did not let you down. They have earned your respect in a difficult situation that just has to be an absolute nightmare for them.
I dunno, I doubt they know anything about it. Nobody there has said a word to me about any of these postings so I really don''t think they frequent the forum here. I could be wrong I guess but I don''t see any reason for them to be upset, they handled the situation very well I thought.
Oh I tried to post the Sarin report but it wouldn't post. I'll just type it in here...

There I think that's all the pertinent info. There's pics of the original diamond linked at the beginning of this post.
Thanks for all the suggestions and support everyone. It wasn't anything about me so much as them putting forth the effort and making me feel like they really wanted to do right and handle the situation well. It was easy to feel calm about it most of the time because she genuinely communicated a desire to do right and make me happy. Despite the goof up I gotta say Rondel's is a good business and I'd recommend them. I'll probably be going back to them to get my bands since they did so well in this trial by fire.
It looks like a beautiful stone. I think your fiance will be very pleased and proud to wear it. I''m so glad this situation was resolved so efficiently and effectively. Sounds like Rondel''s would be a good place to get your bands as well.
Brando, I''m so glad things worked out for you! Looks like you have a winner! I''m so glad you were able to find a suitable replacement that you were satisfied with quickly! Gooduck and make sure to post pics when the ring is finished!
What an ordeal! I cant believe the calm you handeled yourself with, very impressive. If my jeweler lost my stone, i would be...well, less sympathetic. Congrats on getting such a beautiful stone!
Very relieved to hear this came out well, Brandon. I''m especially glad Neil provided the telling images and reassurances. It looks like a great diamond.
It''s so wonderful that Rondel''s made good on their exchange...this could''ve been a disaster, but Rondels has shown true professionalism and respect for their customer. They definitely need to go on the recommended B&M list after this experience...
Glad things worked out. Most jewelers are honest people who will do there best to correct an honest mistake. This post is probably the best advertising that this jewler can get - dispite the obvious cost.
I should also mention: Thank you for being such a class act yourself.
I appreciate the compliments folks but I gotta point back at Rondels. I could have easily blown a gasket and gotten upset about this but from the start they were so forthright and honest about what was going on that I knew it was going to be taken care of, either through the diamond they offered or another arrangement. If they had come to me as pushy, arrogant, or unwilling to do whatever it took to make me happy then I would have been a much different person. As it was we both felt bad with what happened and she did a great job in making it up to me.
Plus having this forum really helped keep me calm because I had so many pieces of advice and suggestions to consider. Thank you everyone, especially John for taking time on a weekend to give me a call and Neil for the appraisal. I''ve been telling everyone about the PS forums, this place has been the best source of information and support.
