What happened here is really unethical, please make sure you leave them detailed reviews on BBB, Yelp, etc. Having a shoddy bench that chipped a stone is one thing, but completely pretending that nothing happened and trying to trick you into believing that you received your own stone back is quite another. That is the definition of fraud.

jeeez!!!!!!!!!!! they broke your stone!, didn't admit it? switched to another stone? Terrible. Sending you good vibes for lower stress and hoping the new stone matches your old one. Terrible jeweler and bench. I read recently that being a bench jeweler is a terrible profession for the future, but to my mind, get some kids in there, pay them well and get master crafts people.. this bench was horrible. So sorry for the whole mess for youl :x2:x2:x2:x2 :shifty::shifty::shifty: !!! :wavey::wavey::wavey::wavey: to you.

ETA: read more of the thread, you were gracious to accept your stone back. Part amicably? you are a swell person. :)
