Still searching for a 2 carat asscher cut diamond

So here is where things are at...

I found out that the 2.23 carat asscher cut diamond was sold by the time the owner of the store made it over to personally view the diamond and wanted to get a ASET image of it. I was completely crushed!!!! It had everything that I wanted.
It was a VVS1, had fluorescence, a stone that had been recommended to me, it was colorless, and had a very good cut, and was within my price range. My range was $15,000.00 to $18,000.00.

I am still actively looking but I think I will pay the wire cost and get the money there first before requesting the ASET image to guarantee that I get first dibs on a stone. It does not mean that they would send me the stone if I didn't think I liked the ASET image.

That one could have been the one.

I am ready for more recommendations. Can you help? Gypsy has been very helpful, along with others. Thank you.

I'm sorry you lost the stone. That can be so discouraging. I'm sure one of the experts will help you soon! Good luck! Hopefully the next one will be even better.

I am not sure what has already been recommended to you, but this is one of the best cut asschers I have ever seen:

Oh baby. You aren't kidding. That's one nice asscher, potentially. I'd still want an ASET. But I'd be willing to buy it first, then have them get me the ASET before mailing (even if the time it took was deducted from my return window).

So is this one recommended above: http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/loose-diamonds/2-01-to-3-00/2-04ct-square-emerald-asscher-cut-diamond-gia-h-vs2#.V7fwgzXFFS0

Hi Heidi
Congrats on such a purchase- exciting!!
Just a point-with many internet vendors, even if you pay first there's a possibility that the stone you choose won't be available.
Unfortunately this has happened on many occasions – you can see this by reading through the threads here.
For this reason, maybe it would be advisable to see if you can get an actual ASET or pics first to assure that the vendor actually has the stone in hand.
Best of luck in your search! I love asschers too:)

Excellent point, David! James Allen is owned by a diamond supplier, and many of the stones they list are available through other vendors. So you could pay but someone else somewhere else might have paid just before you, and when JA calls for the stone, it may already be sold. We see that happen occasionally and people get upset when they find out a couple of days later than their order is cancelled. So there definitely are no guarantees.

Gypsy, I feel like buying that asscher myself!!!

If you can increase the budget just a little, I found another outstanding one. I had to think on this a little before posting to be sure I didn't want to buy it myself! (I really do want it, but I cannot have every diamond I love!) It faces up larger than the H, so it is worth the extra cost in terms of face up size and color/clarity.

The one you suggested is very lowely!!! Very nice.

What about this one everybody?

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/asscher-cut/2.01-carat-f-color-vs2-clarity-sku-918168

Very good advice on the fact that even though I wire money does not guarantee that I would get a stone.

Diamondseeker, I just love the diamond in your photo. Is this your ring? It is simply beautiful!!

Well, it has some potential. Not as much as the two DS pointed out. My main concern is that I doubt it is going to be eyeclean though.

I am not fond of the james allen stone you posted. It is cut deep and has a thick to very thick girdle. If spread is important to you at all, you are using a lot of the diamond's weight in the bottom of the stone and in the girdle. My 2.01 ct asscher faces up 7.2x7.2mm just to give some insight as to if it's cut well it doesn't have to be so deep and also I would prefer a girdle in the medium to slightly thick range.

Good advice Clearfading and Gypsy. Yes, the diamond spread if important to me.

I suppose it would be possible for the center to not sparkle as much because of this.

Thank you so much! Yes, it is mine! It is an August Vintage Round from Good Old Gold. A newly cut Old European Cut.

That diamond just isn't of the caliber of the other two. I will tell you right now that I would personally buy the one from Enchanted Diamonds. The diameter is good on that one and the diamond is superior. I recently bought an antique asscher and that is the reason I didn't buy this asscher myself! But I did think a minute about selling mine and getting this one!

This diamond must have been photographed during an earthquake, I'd ask for a better photo and ASET but it may have potential. 2.01 F VVS2 And Strong Fluor! https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/view/A201-062187304

Edit to say that I find asschers with 68% depth to be sparkle bombs. I'd definitely get more pics and ASET on it. Also have you called Yekutiel? He sometimes finds awesome asschers.

Thank you for the suggestions. Yes, the L is too warm for me. I had an I in color and it drove me crazy. I wish I didn't have to have this issue because I could save a bunch of money.

So, we were going to wire money this week on this diamond: https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/view/A201-062187304#diamond=2675Z269Z

...but the price shot up from an already tight $19,000.00 some dollars for a wire transfer to $21,300.00. I am sorry, but this really annoyed me and I will not go over $20,000.00 for a diamond. :((

My budget is $15,000.00 to $18,000.00 but am willing to stretch as I did for this diamond, then the price changed by $2,000.00.

Ugh!!!

So the search continues.....

Thoughts on this one???

https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/view/A201-062187304

I will check on the post with the diamond that looks like it was photographed in an earthquake.

The large stone in the halo setting from Grace? It looks lovely. The color is lower than you wanted though, right?

Yes, it is K color and not an asscher. If you want to expand your search to emerald cuts, I'd probably look at those first. This ring is priced at full retail and not at a second hand price, meaning you could choose an equivalent stone and have the setting made for the price they are asking. But if you really love K color, you certainly can make an offer if the ring size is close enough. It's a beautiful ring. I think it is on hold, though. Do you have it on hold?

Thank you, DiamondSeeker and Gypsy-
Yes, K is lower in color than I was hoping. But it is very pretty. I am not the one that has this ring on hold.

What are either one of your thoughts on the diamond that I posted in one of my last posts?

OP - did you decide against this stone? it's still showing as available as is the JBG one egemnoel and Gypsy posted http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/loose-diamonds/2-01-to-3-00/2-04ct-square-emerald-asscher-cut-diamond-gia-h-vs2#.V9dCu_l95aR

JBG is also showing this asscher - slightly over your budget I think tho? but it looks pretty (not as pretty as the 2.04 in the videos tbh) http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/loose-diamonds/2-15ct-vintage-asscher-cut-diamond-gia-h-vs2#.V9dDd_l95aQ
