Are we talking unicorn here, or should I revisit the search in a few weeks with the odds of finding a better stone?

Engagement is not until late December

I think you need to go unde 9x6 a bit and get a better stone. The halo will make it look big, do not worry.

My computer is not up-to-date enough to display the website for the first one properly  :( but the second one looks to have a noticeable bow-tie.

It also appears to not be available anymore. Have you put it on hold and/or purchased it?

OPINIONS?

I wouldn't buy a J color pear. The color will concentrate in the tip. A pear as a uniquely annoying feature where the top shows more color than the butt (for lack of a better term)
So we're one might be ok with more color. You have to also take into consideration that the color very well may not look even.

You know, I had an H color pear. And the color was more noticeable than in my k color round. Just food for thought.

Hi. I have a question about the bow ties. Doesn't it depend upon the particular kind of lighting? My pear does not bow tie at my appraisers, but it does in certain other lighting situations, so how accurate are the videos?

It depends more on the faceting. If a pear is going to bow-tie, it has a faceting pattern that allows it, and while some lighting situations may disguise it, it still has a bow tie.

Some pears that are cut to not have bow-ties:

A minimal bow tie:

With the videos when you spin the stone it's pretty clear whether or not they'll have a bow tie. Most do. I looked through just about every JA pear and those two that I first linked imo are the best on the site.
