Hi ladies! I'm new to posting here but have been lurking for a while. Finally I've decided to work with starsgem to get a trilogy ring for my anniveraary. I've been working with demi to recreate a BGD princess trellis ii trilogy ring and here's the CAD Demi sent ..

Anyone able to spot anything that I haven't?

A question I posed to demi was that because there is some space under the trellis, would I need to size down in order for the ring to fit well, and she suggested bringing the height of the trellis down altogether if sizing was a concern..
I have never owned a trellis setting before so I'd really be grateful for any advice from yiu guys!

Thanks so much!

Hi! Off to work, but a quick thought is that your trestle is way too high and not as substantial as your inspiration. I’d have her lower it quite a bit (as much as 2-3mm) and have her thicken up those support arms in the gallery. You may also want her to pinch in or taper the shank where it connects with the first side stone on each side. Good luck!

Thank you so much! You're definitely right about those pointers!! I've got much to learn! I've reached out to Demi and she agrees as well. Thank you!

Hi guys so I've gotten the new CAD from demi and it looks much better, but am I imagining that the prongs of the side stones are now sitting too high?(almost level with the prongs of the center stone)

I've included the wax mould of the original BGD setting for comparison ! IMG-20200226-WA0021.jpg IMG_20200226_144916.jpg

I think if you lower the center as much as you did, then the side stones are going to look more level. I do think, however, once the prongs are bent down over the side stones, it won’t look quite as level as it appears in the CAD because they are smaller.

I have also done a two toned ring with SG and I have the CAD for another similar 3 stone that they have done before as examples .

You also need to thicken up that band because they polish off .2 mm at least. I would make the thickness 2 mm and it will end up being 1.8mm. Your width will end up being somewhere around 2.2-2.3 mm when they are done.

Here was my CAD and another one that was done last year. The ring I made was the first one with them and it was seriously solid. It was about double the gold weight of your’s. It sat a little higher but it made it easier to wear any type of band with it.

Here is another one that was from the SG thread on here. She went a tiny bit higher and with the cross trellis. Her’s sat a little higher then your’s but not too much.
