Spinel - quick advice needed!

Howdy all,

Looking for affordable red spinel for xmas as my prezzie. How about this one? Obviously I realise ebay isn''t so popular here but this is just a fun stone.

I like the colour but wonder a. is it real and b. will it have massive window?

Any advice in next hour would be great! Thanks

Doesn''t look like a "typical" Namya red spinel where the colour is absolutely shocking red. Colour isn''t too dark or brown. My concern is that it might be the new flux synthetic red spinel. Those are difficult to tell from the real thing. Window wise, I don''t think there is any.

That one is a bit too brown for my taste, and I would not buy a red spinel from ebay without a reputable gem cert indicating it's natural. Be very careful or red or blue spinel on ebay that will look extinct or too dark in person.
