Here are a few of my new pretties. A spessartite from Gemrite in a lotus setting with a 18k gold head and a shank in silver. This is the spess in brutal incandescent daylight. In my eyes it's an autumny ochre.

OMG, just one picture, and it''s exquisite. You have such beautiful taste in jewelry and how you put gems and metal together. Gorgeous!!

A (blurry) side shot to show the two tone.

In the shade.

Another, I don''t know why it shows brown, I don''t see that at all IRL.

This is the vibrant orange it shows in the shade, a great winter stone [:) and very entertaining.

This is my new love. It''s a 4,8 carat and 10mm natural blue topaz, cut by Doug Menahue at Bespoke Gems. The stone is just amazing, as I will try to show with my pictures.

Here I''m wearing it with its friends, two lotus seeds (sapphire and tourmaline) from Sally. It''s quite the combo.

This stone is like something from a fairytale, mesmerizing! And in sunlight it''s a real hazard, it''s so scintillating that it''s blinding.

A profile of the setting, a lush lotus in silver with rhodium plating.

I will take more pictures, as soon as we have even one sunny day. I''d love to catch the stone when it goes all soft looking with blue, lavender and violet tones. Dreamy. I never knew topaz could be so wonderful. There is a definite difference between this one and the ones I have that are irradiated. The irradiated are flat, while this one is shimmery and watery at times.

W-O-W!!! The natural topaz'' color is sooo pretty. Same goes with the yummy spess.

Love ''em both

Gorgeous ring, is the blue topaz the acorn cut?

Well done

Love both of them!

VERY pretty! I love the ring design with the topaz!!!

Wow great stones and lovely settings. I love the cuts of the stones.

Beautiful rings marie! I must confess that I haven''t been a huge fan of the popular lotus setting, but maybe it''s because the stones haven''t been big enough - yours are great! The blue topaz is the phi flower dome, right? I just love that domed crown!

Whoa! That topaz is a show stopper! Congrats on the new pretties!

It''s so pretty, lovely addition to your collection.

Oooo lovely new pretties!!

I''m also interested in the cut on the topaz!

Just gorgeous! That spessarite is blazing!!!

The cut on that spess is absolutely stunning! It reminds me of a marigold with many, many petals.

Gorgeous!

Marie, thank you for posting these photos. They''re getting me really excited about my sister spess.

You have such lovely jewelry. Beautiful, clean colors and color combos.

so pretty ! tempting me to get a lotus for my star sapphire:)

So nice to share!

The cut of the blue topaz is called Phi Flower Dome, and I understand it''s one of Doug''s own. It''s really pretty. Check out his pictures here As this is my first natural blue topaz, I don''t know what is due to the material and what is due to the cut, but the stone is interesting, lively, changes faces in different lights. I could look at it forever and ever.

The topaz especially is HUGE. Somehow I don''t mind

But the ring is surprisingly comfy, especially with the lotus seeds on each side. That''s the cut, it performs really well, I want one in every gemstone variety, so I can compare
