I realized I''ve been spending so much time becoming a diamond expert I still know almost nothing about platinum. I''ve seen standard Tiffany classic solitaire mountings from $150 on up to over $1500. What gives? What should I be looking for in a platinum ring? What is 950 platinum? should price directly correlate to gram weight? How many grams is good for a simple Tiffany solitaire? What questions do I need to be asking to make sure I''m getting a good deal on the ring? Is it just me or do some diamond discounters seem to mark up their platinum to make some of their money back on their lower diamond profits?
