This stone is incredibly hard to photograph--I think it''s due to the faceted table, but I really have no idea. it does not exhibit this much extinction in real life, and is very bright and sparkly.

You didn't use flash on your camera, right? There's too much reflection of light that the camera doesn't seem to know where to focus on. That's a really cool cut where the entire table is faceted up to a point, much like a rose cut.
THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL, Freke! Crazily enough that''s the exact same combo I was thinking of for my "left over" 4.35mm .31 OEC -- only I''d bezel that in the center, rather than prong set it. BTW -- Are those the teeny tiny hydrangeas or the "regular" size? SOOO PRETTY!!!!!! Loved his version with the pink sapphire, which is what made me think of my own project ... but yours is EVEN BETTER!
