I saw the hauynite when it was just posted and really struggled with the decision to purchase some. My fear was that I would end up with a bunch of pretty, tiny stones with no idea what to do with them! Apparently my concern wasn't shared because now it's all gone haha! Alas, such is life!

Lol...me too. At one point I had 10 of the Burmese spinels and 10 hauynes in my cart...then I looked at my boxes of unset gems and FORCED myself to step away. It was hard!!!

Lol Katharath. I did the same with the hauynes. I still have 10 of the neon burmas unset from her trip to Las Vegas. When her sale went live at midnight eastern on Sunday I had the Orange neon spess in my cart (it's been in her shop for months and I got to see it in person) and within one minute someone bought it out of my cart ha ha. We are all nuts!!

I had to remind myself that I have already have hauynite melee in two of my Yvonne rings....in fact, I got started making rings with Yvonne when I bought some last year and just had to have them set (the color is amazing). And I still have some neon pinks left from my last project.
(sorry about the spess sungura...I thought about the bixbite as I love little rare oddities but its gone now)

katharath and Lilmosun I know we share a love of these super saturated oddities and it's just so hard to resist when they become available. I had months to buy that Spess. I scored the odd Emerald triangle and the super bright blue 4mm round sapphire at 20% off. So I'm happy

Lovedogs: I was just admiring that spinel! I loved it in the smaller photo, but when I see it on the hand, I wonder how much shadowing/half and half it might exhibit on a regular basis. Assuming its minimal, someone should buy it and let us know!
For all of you Yvonne lovers, can you fill me in? Was she having a sale or something? Not that I need any incentive to buy stones, but its always a pleasure to know about sales, especially of beautiful gemstones
