Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

Im suspicious of the tourmaline because its so clean. But I like the setting

I was close to pulling the trigger on this last night but the tourmaline / green stone looks so abraded I decided against it. I like the setting and the color of the stone.

Oh wow yeah definitely abraded when I zoom in. I just can't figure out how its natural with that color???

I liked this but ... maybe it's just me.... i feel like the real real prices really crept up!!?? Anyone else??

Yes!

I've bought several pieces of jewelry on TRR, but I can't imagine buying something that's over a certain price-point because of the very poor customer service I've received every single time. I'm not exactly sure what that price point would be, but perhaps $10K? Small chunk change in the scheme of high-quality jewelry (though perhaps to some, the $300,000 diamond is pocket change).

I went into my local Houston TRR boutique recently, and they required me to give them my drivers license to see small-ish stuff. I know it wasn't personal, but it still made me feel "dirty", like I was going to abscond with their scuffed trinkets. (I had just come from VCA where I got to try on the Snowflake earrings without anyone batting an eye and they gave me chocolates and bubbly during the process. They knew I wasn't there to buy something so expensive, but they wanted to make me feel like a princess, and to keep me in love with the brand, which they succeeded in doing.)

In stark contrast, the TRR SA was beyond stuuuuupid and extremely condescending. At one point, I asked very politely to see the Elsa Peretti bone cuff in silver, pointing to the bangle in the case. The SA said, "oh noooo, honey, that's TIFFANY!!!" Her tone was one of schooling a country bumpkin. :wall:

That is just awful! I have always had trouble with the people they hire for customer service but I haven't tried going to one of their stores even though one is close to me. I don't think that I will now.

Do you think that they have new people setting the prices? Or do they think with the tariffs on India that they can raise pre-loved diamond prices?

Old cut experts, what are your thoughts on this one? I read through very informative posts from @Dreamer_D but I have long way to go learning wise.

I’m also noticing most 18k yellow gold is bought really quickly, even if small parts like bezels on watches. Diamonds, gold, gemstones all experiencing price increases. They also might have an algorithm pricing things for them. And, I notice they have really nice pieces at good prices on hold as soon as they are listed, almost like they are used to generate interest in other pieces. There are not a lot of antique bargains. But still worth looking through!

Yes, buy it. OEC that resembles an Old Mine center, not exactly perfect prototype but very nice. Stones look very white. Small size but likely very lively. Good return policy, people here have bought from this seller.

If you're interested, don't forget they take offers. In the past they used to entertain about 15% off but I only know that for higher priced offers. Maybe others know what they generally will take for something under $1000.

Agreed I like it a lot. Good bang for the buck — a beautiful piece overall with nice diamonds.

@drahokum That vendor sold an amazing Edwardian brooch to one of our members. I hope you love the ring. Otherwise, it’s a good return policy if I recall correctly.

I have followed purchases that other members of PS have made with them and based on what they reported i felt good about shopping with this eBay shop. It really makes a difference buying from sellers that have track record of good customer service. Not just on the financial side of things but also mind clean.
