Colorless old cuts are very rare and because sellers are usually not very accurate in their color estimates, I think you best bet is still going to be finding a stone with a lab report. Ebay has lots of pawn/scrap sellers who offer old cuts with reports at good prices. None of these are a screaming deal but the prices are lower than you will see at traditional retailers. Not sure how exactly it needs to be 5.5. These are close.

Yeah I get it. Color will definitely be an issue with old cuts for the reasons I mentioned above. And MRB is a good option. Unfortunately in the used market they are usually poorly cut. Any that are nicely cut tend to sell for a premium you likely do t want to pay. All else being equal I think a lab stone might check the most boxes for you: color, cut, price. Worth considering.

I can’t go much smaller than 8. 8.25-8.5 are more comfortable and allow me to wear on either hand. I also have big feet so shoes are out and I wasn’t moved by any bags but I’ll probably keep looking. I’m looking for staple pieces that have visual impact but aren’t too over the top because I work from home and have to wrangle two toddlers. I’ve been keeping an eye on the new stock and flipping through my very long list of loves but haven’t been moved to buy yet. I have a few days before the credit expires.
