Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

you're totally right! The smallest stone on the shoulder was hard to see, and I was confused and thought that the 4 stones were the 1ct.

Yeah I think it’s a bit more modest in proportions given the ct weight is spread to those little guys too.

@Mreader don’t know your budget but I’ve been eyeing this but don’t have funds right now

Lots of unknowns, but the price is nice!

An update on this ring, which I ended up buying for the princely sum of $159:

I love it! The little diamond is clean and bright - a real firebomb. It never ceases to amaze me when I wear it in a LED-rich environment - LOL! The detailing is still amazingly crisp, especially considering that this ring is likely more than 100 years old.

I did bring it to my jewelers to have it sized and to have the prongs checked and tightened. The servicing cost more than twice what I paid for the ring! One day that lesson - which I seem to have to keep learning - will really sink in. Oh well. It hasn’t diminished my enjoyment of this ring. It does have me on the hunt for a new jeweler, though - at least for repairs!

This is a SCORE

Anyone in the market for an antique asscher? It’s going to auction by Hess and comes with a GIA cert—5.36 H VVS2. It’ll probably go for a bonkers price before premium.

How is it they determined an antique cut?

Found it on LiveAuctioneers.com

We should pool whatever is left from our 401Ks, buy it, and take turns wearing it. Like a Pricescope commune.

@Mreader I stumbled across this beauty: 6.49ct GIA fancy intense yellow old mine brilliant set in a Victorian flower cluster ring with OECs. Look at that sweet high crown—swooning.

It’s auction so who knows?

It looks very pretty! The tag thing has happened to me multiple times also and the first time or two I told them but then I just started ignoring it. I actually like it when they do it because then you can actually tell how the ring fits. Even a small little tag can make a difference. Are they all brilliant or are there some old cut in there?

Also, we need the Tiffany setting thread!

Finally up! https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/the-tiffany-setting.289499/

Oh I think this auction house is sketch...

These are so cute!

I looked into it and I agree—sleazy. Thanks for alerting.

Also so far outside the budget - 6 ct lol. A dream but not feasible.
