Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

Since we're on an antique Tiffany kick, I thought I'd share these two that are on my eBay watch list for no good reason cause I'm not planning to buy either one.



And now I'm thinking maybe I should look for an awesome antique mount for Maxine, one of the loose diamonds I need to set, so I can splurge on the custom setting for my other stone. If anyone comes across a really nice edwardian or art deco mount, more flowery than geometric, for a ~7.5 mm stone, please share!

I appreciate everyone’s suggestions and have already started exploring center stones of all kinds!! It could take up to two weeks for these to arrive, but I will share once they’re here. Perhaps I’ll start a separate thread as the exploration continues.

I will also keep everyone updated regarding what I plan to keep or sell! The floral and butterfly settings look so gorgeous and unique - I hope they’re even better in person!!

FYI after I saved seller sent me an automatic offer of $9500. I’d offer like $8500. That’s wild for three 1ct diamonds and mint antique setting IMO.

This seems like a good place to ask:

I have been watching something on eBay for a long time. Messaged the seller a question a few months back about some measurements. No reply. Decided yesterday to make an offer, which was low. No reply, they just let it lapse. Seller is high volume 99% positive due to two negative reviews last year. 30 day returns. It’s a simple gold ring nothing wild.

Would you make another offer? I’m hesitant bc of the lack of communication so far and what that could mean if I need a return etc. Like, set an auto reject for low offers if you won’t reply, eh? Instead they waste my time ignoring.

I'd say they were Just ignoring your offer, but the fact that you got no response to your questions would definitely give me pause. How about another "ask seller a question" option. If they ignore you again, then if you really want it, be prepared to keep it if you buy it at a higher price.
