Some inspiration please...

HI there! Totally new to this site but so glad I found it! OK, for Christmas my husband gave me a loose diamond...He wants me to choose the setting as he feels hemay choose something and i will return it...mind you this only happened once but I have to live it down...(it was a 6 carat tennis bracelet that I exchanged for an anniversary band b/c I have already broken one tennis bracelet...) so ANYWAY, so I have this sweet little stone and I would like to have a unique setting, one that showcases the stone and my personality! The only request from my husband is that it is set in platinum...I have been to a few stores and everything is so typical and almost generic...We got married at 19 and didn''t have anything...we have always struggled but I know how much he wanted me to have this...I know him buying this stone means a lot to him as it does to me...I guess you can''t show the depth of love through a setting...or maybe you can! Any help or links would totally rock! tHank you!

HIya! I totally don''t have any specs for the ring! My husband filed all the paperwork and I did not look at it. Its not a large stone, maybe a little over a carat...its really shiny and reminds me of looking in to a kaleidascope...oh and it is round...I guess all the rings I have seen thus far have these huge honking stones and they look amazing...I would love to somehow have the illusion the stone is bigger but in a solid setting..the ones I have tried all felt rather light. I like to feel weight on my hand. I love the ''lucida'' style i guess but i have only seen them with larger stones. I want to wear the ring with both my platinum plain band or with my anniversary band which is 5 stones totallying over a 1.5 carat. soooo your input would be amazing! thank you!!!

Oh and I forgot, i like 4 prong settings and I would like to spend no more than 2 grand on a setting...I was thinking maybe a simple setting and then maybe another anniversary band to go on top...but I have not seen any sets like that.
