But he gets me what I ask for for the most part, so I only say what I want to end up with. Otherwise he gets me something I do not want. He figures if I discuss it, I want it.

Gwen, I can''t wait to see the results!! I''ll add mine even though it isn''t on my finger for another couple of weeks... You can count it in if you''d like!

Original ERing:

Size 5
4.04 ct Cushion Brilliant
1ct melee (aprox)

5.04 tcw
Hey Gwen, I''m not sure if you are still doing this or not, or maybe you posted it already and I missed it... But if you haven''t finished it yet I have a revision... Final melee count from Leon is 1.88cts. Which gives me 5.92tcw.

Still working on it! I''m doing it on breaks between my grad school work, so it''ll be a while before I finish it. Thanks for the revised info, ma''am.

Hi there,
.33 carat and size 4.5 - resized to 5 after 25 years

Ering center stone is 2.52 pear
w/ two pear side stones 1.02 ctw

Ering total 3.54 ctw

paired with RB 2.1 ctw eternity band

Well... the ER I got for my sweet bride was rather unusual, especially around here I would guess. Sterling silver ring with waves on it- no diamond, or any other gemstones for that matter. Still going strong this much time later just goes to show you can do it any way you like and make it work! I love her as much as if it had been the Hope diamond! Of course I''m planning to get her a gorgeous new piece very soon.

e-ring:
center 0.506ct G-SI1 RB
sides .13ct G-VS2 marquise (X2)
total 0.766ct

w-band:
0.01ct G-VS2 RB (X9)
total 0.09ct

set:
total 0.856ct

finger size 4.5

e-ring(2nd upgrade)
center: 3.79 rb
band 3 sided 1.64(i think)=5.43 tcw

center: cushion 0.94 (H/VS1)

setting: 0.12

total: 1.06

Are you going to give us the mean, median, and mode? Hee.

Promise ring: Septmeber 2000, 4 stones total weight of 0.20 carat princess cut solitare

First e-ring December 2002 0.82 carat H, VS2 round brilliant.

First upgrade December 2006 1.20 carat H, SI2 round brilliant

Second upgrade May 2008 1.50 carat G, SI1 round brilliant

Wedding band: 9 stones, total of 0.50 ctw

3.67 solitaire

I chose my wedding band, so I can update my info now. I also found out I had the wrong ctw for my e-ring setting this whole time.

E-ring: Center stone 2.01 ct cushion, 1.08 cts of RBs set in eternity setting = 3.09 ctw
Wedding band: 2.7 ctw eternity band (20 RBs, 13.5 points each) I''m so excited for my wedding band!

SO, the tcw of my set will be: 5.79 cts

My first e ring was 1.26. I''m getting a 1.8 now.

When are you going to post results? I can''t wait!

Thanks for starting the thread!

Thanks for starting the thread!
I''m not sure when I''ll be finished. I just started working on my master''s dissertation (which is due in mid-July), and this is my pet procrastination project to do when I need a break from working on the paper.

I think it is a good diversion...good luck on your project...

ha ha ha! I hear you! Well, good luck on your paper. Tell us how that goes too! (Thank god I''m finished with all my projects, papers, exams, etc! I only have my pet project of hunting for a new e ring left

)

Whenever you do find time to finish your pet project, I''m most interested in the results!

Thanks again!

Gwen, not that you want to actually do this but...have you considered cross referencing to really get a count? Like after you do the calculations from this thread, you could go through the entire ERING thread on SMTR, and note all the ct. weights (they''re usually on there I think) and see if that list matches up with this list...That list has so many more rings than this one, it''s almost more representative isn''t it? This one is more "rings of folks who are still around PS regularly", while the other thread is all the rings ever, isn''t it? Hey, I dont want you to be bored during summer break...!

The problem with using that thread is that it doesn't have all the specific info about each ring. Like, I don't know which rings of those are upgrades or original e-rings, and I (at least initially) want to make that distinction. There also are rings in the eye candy folder that aren't engagement rings at all--some are RHRs, some are anniversary rings, etc., and I don't think most of them are labeled. It just seems like it's: here's the ring, here are the basic stats, oogle the picture. Which is fine! It's great! But it doesn't have quite enough info for me, if that makes any sense.

ETA: I do realize it makes it more complicated for me, just like how doing a poll would've been LOADS easier, but...that feels incomplete, like only going half-way. I'm sure I sound like a loon--I'm not even a math nut! I guess I'm just anal? Crazy? One of those.

I''m teeny tiny by PS standards .92--- still waiting to reset (broken finger... long story...)
so no other stones yet, BUT I''m planning on a halo to make that bugger POP!

OOOOUCH! I hope your busted finger heals up quickly, so you can wear that sparkler soon!!!!

CENTER: 3.12 CT.

SIDE BAGUETTES: .20 CT/ea. = .40CT

TCW: 3.52 CT.

(no wedding bands yet, but we''re probably doing 2 teeny, tiny, less than a half carat total weight eternity bands, one on either side of E-ring)

My center is a 1.34 RB and my setting is 1.01 tcw. Can''t wait to see the average!!!
