Alright! I just finished inputting the data from this thread--187 entries! Now, to do the calcs!

If anyone else wants to add their info, go right ahead! Tell me your center stone carat weight, sidestones/melee/pave/accent stone weights, any other stone (like sapphire accent stone or center stones), wedding band ctw, 3-stone rings, etc. Give me as much info as you like.

Hah. My info has changed since we started this thread. New ring (permanent?): 1.77ct K VS1, plus .24ctw (8 sidestones). I''m not giving WB info, right? I don''t know for sure what it is anyway. Maybe .22ctw.

Upgrades! Anyone who gave me information on their upgrades was tallied in this column. If you had multiple upgrades, I only used information from the most recent one, so this should reflect everyone''s current e-rings.

Total number of carats of diamond upgrades: 106.1cts
Average upgrade: 2.35777778cts, extremes were 0.73 and 10.1
Median of upgrades: 1.81cts
Mode of upgrades: 2.0cts

Total number of carats in diamond wedding bands: 22.48cts
Average number of carats in diamond wedding bands: 0.80285714cts, extremes were 0.09cts and 2.7cts
Median: 0.75cts

E-rings with stones other than diamonds in the center! There aren''t many of you, so you won''t have a mode, I''m afraid.

Total carat weight of non-diamond center stones: 4.45cts
Average carat weight of non-diamond center stones: 1.48333333cts, extremes being 0.97cts and 2.06cts
Median: 1.42cts

Ice Princess Cristy--Thanks so much! I realized after I posted the stuff in here that lots of people probably wouldn''t read it for the results, so I created a results thread. But thanks for the reply!

My original e-ring was a .80 pear. It is now a pendant!

My 20th Anniversary ring is a 2.43 RB with .25 side stones and smaller stones in the shank. I wear it with a 1.25 full eternity band.

My engagement ring, pear, no side stones, is 1.35. I got it in 1983, and the first time I wore it, I was in the check-out line at the grocers, and a mom and her 12/13 yr-old daughter were staring at my hand. I heard the mom whisper, "It''s probably fake". So, in these here parts (No. CA, San Francisco area), 1.35 is kind of large

In 1983, anyway

I actually see larger stones when I visit San Fran than I do where I currently live (West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area in CA). Probably an issue of the areas I visit, though.

Yay, hello there, diffraction! That is a BEAUTIFUL shot of your ring! Do you have any more? I''d love to see a SMTR thread on your lovely ring--more close-ups and handshots and profile shots, maybe?

Oh man, I posted ONCE and then disappeared!

Thank you for the compliments! If you still want to see more pictures, I can probably get some this weekend and send them to you. Also, what does SMTR mean? I tried looking it up, but I can''t find anything...

Oh, that would be LOVELY! I always want to see more pictures.

SMRT stands for ''Show Me The Ring''--that just refers to the forum (right next to this one, RockyTalky) where everyone posts threads full of their gorgeous jewelry! It would be wonderful if you posted a thread in there with more photos of your beautiful ring!
