So, what are you happy about these days?

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone with so much negativity and random posts on PS lately. This isn't how PS usually is, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

SO -- what has made you happy this week, this month, this summer...?

I'm happy that the sun is shining and it's a beautiful day. Sometimes it's the little things that make someone happy.

I'm happy I get to take a science class this semester.

I'm happy SO and I are figuring things out and making a plan of what to do from here.

I'm happy that I'm going to be doing a fun food tour idea, and blogging it, and people are actually excited about it and want to read it.

I'm happy my dogs are happy.

I'm happy I have a new gun to learn with.

I was just telling a girlfriend yesterday when she wanted to know how I was doing that I was happy. REALLY happy.

Everyone in my life is healthy. My daughter is thriving. My husband and I are enjoying each other very much. Job is going great. And I'm getting back in shape. My e-ring fits again.

Life isn't perfect, but I have nothing to complain about. Or maybe I just feel like I want to be happy.

I think the heat is getting to all of us! I've had a hard time not complaining about lots of things this summer, mainly because of the stifling/oppressive heat with almost zero relief.

I am happy about all kinds of things. I just got engaged last month and we're starting to plan a wedding. We've been looking at houses, we saw two this week and we're seeing two tonight. We'll be on the lake on our realtor/friend's boat all day Sunday. The campaign S has been working on has been stellar recently due to total screw up on the part of the incumbent. His other projects are going fantastically. We both have stable jobs and our health. Lots of friends, tons of activities, life is just really good.

A fellow coworker has been working so hard on a project and no one was recognizing him for it. This morning he finally got his recognition and I'm so proud of him and happy for him!

FI lost his job which sucks but I'm thrilled that he's home bonding with Sophia. I think it'll be great for them.

I'm going to a wine shop for lunch. No wine for me but they make the most amazing sandwiches and it's so much fun to go there. Can't wait!

The weekend is here!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and I think I'm going to pretend that no one else in the world exists and brave the beach with Sophia tomorrow. I don't like to go because I'm overweight but she loves water and I think she'll love the beach.

I'm happy that my problems are miniscule in the big picture.

I'm thrilled that I'm writing a musical...despite the fact that my time line just shifted a few weeks due to another commitment, I will soon be sitting at my desk 2-3 hours a day and getting it done. DH and I are forming a production company and getting it done.

I also just got paid for something I wrote, so I can now put "professional writer" on my resume ... and cross it off my bucket list.

And I finally found a deodorant I liked.

My Offhand Top 10 In No Particular Order

1. I have the good fortune to wear one of the most beautiful rings I have ever seen IRL.

2. I get to live in two amazing countries

3. I have a hard working, gentle, smart, empathetic, handsome husband - and his family is warm, inviting, fun and funny

4. My daughter is healthy and bi-lingual, and growing into a fine young woman that I enjoy parenting and also just hanging around with.

5. I have enough money for special things but not so much that special things are taken for granted.

6. My mom is in remission, active, cooking, and enjoying her life.

7. I LOVE my family and get to have a family reunion every 6 months.

8. I have lifelong best friends

9. I have new relationships with all my friends from all the different periods of my life through Facebook... as an expat, it's a godsend.

10. I get so much comraderie and satisfaction from PS.

Life is pretty tough right now, so sometimes it's difficult to feel happy. Still, I definitely do have a lot to be happy about and thankful for.

- My FF is the most wonderful, kind, and caring man that I have ever met, and I am soooo thankful to have such a wonderful relationship with him - and our engagement is coming up soon!
- I have a very sweet, affectionate, and loyal dog - he's pretty much like my baby.
- My parents are very loving and supportive, and even though we do clash sometimes, I know that they will always be there for me.
- All of my favorite TV shows are in season right now.
- It's summertime, which is my favorite season.
- We have a nice pool for me to lounge around in.
- I will be lucky enough to wear a beautiful ring that my FF and I chose together - he worked hard to get me the diamond that we loved, and it is so much better than even my dream ring ever was. This definitely ties in with me being lucky enough to have such an amazing man.

That really makes me feel better! Thanks for this thread!

I closed on my first house ever, and it's my fiance's first house as well, about three and a half weeks ago! It's an amazing house and we're so happy and blessed.

I also JUST had a successful conversation with my boss about a promotion and it definitely made me feel more "valuable".

I'm happy that I got to see my family this year, and that I got to spend time with my mom and sister and cousins.

I'm so happy to have my sweet kitten-cat in my life! He's so handsome and amazing!

I'm extremely happy that BF and I just celebrated 6 years together, it just doesn't feel like that many years have passed. I'm so excited for our future!

It makes me so happy that BF's brother and BF were able to stay with my family for a night while they were making their way back to their home.

I'm soooo happy and excited that my BFF is going to be having a baby soon, and I'm happy that her husband will be coming back from his deployment hopefully before the baby gets here!

I'm just really happy for the people that are in my life and that I'm able to enjoy my life.

I'm happy that my FIL finally got a new kidney, and it is WORKING!!!! And that he's feeling better already.
I'm happy that my sister is settled in to her new life in LA and loving it.
I'm happy that my cousin's pregnancy is moving along smoothly and that she's feeling healthy.
I'm happy that our pup loves the pool we got for her.
I'm happy that the new school year is about to start, and all my teacher friends are refreshed and ready to go back.
I'm happy that I'm starting a new job on Monday, and my new colleagues all seem to love what they do.
