I'm happy that we are (slowly) making progress on finishing all of the little projects that we still have around the house. (Still LOTS to go!)
I am happy that DH is almost done with school. I am happy that I got to spend a whole day with my god daughter on Friday. She's 2 and SOOOOOO freakin cute!!
I'm really happy that I got to see two of my closest friends from college yesterday. Their families and my husband and I got together for a backyard BBQ and we had a great time.
I'm also happy that we're having a lazy day today, watching movies and just hanging out at home. It looks like it could pour any minute, so any plans we had for doing something outdoors had to be cancelled. Perfect excuse for lounging around.
I'm happy that a website DH and I created together to make some money on the side is rapidly increasing in traffic. We started at about 8 people per day visiting; now we are up to 300 per day!! We've only been working on it a few weeks!!!
I'm also happy about painting our kitchen a nice reddish color today I'm pretty tired of looking at white walls!!
Thanks, Zoe! It's still somewhat related to what I've been doing (research). I was working directly with participants and I won't be anymore, which is a welcome change. Plus this job is more biomedical and the last was social/behavioral, which I'm not as interested in. I'm still working for the same university, though, so I'll keep getting my graduate classes for free, plus my other sweet benefits! And the people at my new job seem awesome already-I can't wait to start!
I'm happy that I'm finally done moving stuff, and can take a breath of relief.
I'm happy class started too, I'm really excited to refresh myself in biology. Although I was slightly disappointed that they are skipping evolution, human anatomy and reproduction, but now I'm happy that I decided to read those parts on my own anyways!
I would like to bump this above the negativity thread, albeit only temporarily!
I have to admit, things are likely going the best for me that they have been in the last 10 years so I can post in the I'm happy thread.
I am happy that....
I finally have a career that I find personally rewarding, challenging and that I feel I am contributing something valuable to a cohort of people I care about.
My workplace was generous enough to recently send me to a beautiful part of our country I would have probably never visited, to meet with amazing people and have an extremely enriching experience.
Fi and I have hit a more comfortable and..well, happy stride of late, are working on whats behind our disagreements and are having less and less of them.
I was happy to learn that while I was away, absence very much made the heart grow fonder on both our ends!
That Fi's dad is a wonderfully generous and kind guy who is helping me to map my family tree, something I have been wanting to do for ages.
My mother and I are acknowledging (and embracing) our racial and cultural heritage, and ending the generations before us when it was hidden and ashamed of.
My mum and dad appear to be getting along better in this time of their marriage, and my mum has asserted herself more as an individual and awesome woman.
Fi and I are financially sound and things are on the up in that regard.
I am soon to own a one of a kind amazing designer ring made by wonderful people, with a 1.5ct OEC I found for a happy bargain
I am also soon to strike two lovely gemstones off my list that I have been wanting to purchase since joining PS.
Finding a computer game that can consume some extra time that I find entertaining in an extremely dorky way
seeing a double rainbow on my way to work this morning
Beginning to know that SO and I will be ok in the end, and that we have solid future plans, even if we did take our step back to reassess.
Getting to go eat dinner with SO tonight.
The mornings are getting cooler, which means fall is on the way, which means pumpkins which means...
I am happy I can look forward to pumpkin scones, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin pie, pumpkin soup, snickerdoodles, warm milk with cinnamon and honey, warm almond milk, spice cookies, and cider
