If you are late to the party, you can catch up with this thread.

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/ring-is-paid-for-but-i-dont-have-it.97582/

I recently recieved the ring from Pearlmans and it is absolutely gorgeous! Well almost. The diamond is slanted in the setting. I have seen other Ritani rings on this forum with mounting issues, but I just can't believe with everything I have gone through I would have these issues too.

Is anyone surprised pearlmans didn't inspect the ring before sending it to me? Or that they would have inspected it and shipped it anyway?

Anyway, I'll talk with Pearlmans about it tomorrow. Until then here is a pretty top view!

And a sad side view

Honestly, I don't really see it, so I can understand how someone inspecting it might have missed it. It looks to me as if the camera is off center, not the mounting. But I hope that it is fixed to your satisfaction very quickly!

I promise that is dead on center, I set up a tripod and everything! I think if you saw it in person you would notice it immediately.

I am so sorry. I am sure they''ll fix it for you. It is a gorgeous ring.

How about this view. The point of the center stone isn't pointed at the center of the circle, and the prong on the left isn't touching the surface it is sitting on. Am I crazy to think it is crooked? Thank you Marcy!

I am sorry; I hope they fix it soon. Your stone is gorgeous!

First, I would like to congrats you on such a pretty ring and gorgeous diamond.

After reading your concern, I went back to the first picture that you had posted and I did notice the top left prong has closed a little differently than the other three prongs. Do you think if that is the reason to cause diamond sets a little off the center?

Sorry, I meant to say the top RIGHT prong is set differently than the other three....Oooopss...

You are correct, from a top down view the prongs aren''t sitting directly on the corners, I don''t believe this is the problem. I think the issue is the notch cut in the prong is lower on one side than the other.

Thanks Skippy and Kaori!

I hope they can fix it for you. Otherwise, it''s gorgeous!!!

It looks like from the first pic that the culet is far from being centered... Hope it gets fixed soon!

ETA. The cross diagram you made in your first picture posted, you can see the culet is to the right of the vertical line (bottom half). Definitely off!

asudesigner - Sorry you''re having a hard time with your ring. I know how it is to finally get your ring, and it not being "right". I see two things off hand when I look at your ring.

1. The upper right prong looks a bit bigger (or different) than the other.
2. I definitely see that the stone is crooked in the setting, and the culet is not centered.

I had a similar issue with my Beaudry ring, which I ordered from pearlman''s as well. The day after I received the ring, I noticed that my stone was set a bit off center (it didn''t hlep that my setting is an "airline" halo either

). I took several close up shots, and sent them to Jason at Pearlman''s, who at first couldn''t see what my issue is. I sent the ring back, and when he saw it in person, he understood what I was referring to.

I understand how something like this could be missed, as certain things become apparent only when you''re looking for them, and some people have a heightened sense of symmetry.

Pearlman''s did have my ring fixed, and the stone is dead center in the setting.

I''m sure Pearlman''s will make this right for you.

when i look at ring from the top, the right prongs look normal and the way they are supposed to look but both prongs on the left look off to me, i think if you got them to raise the upper left prong up and a littel to the right (more over the corner of the diamond) with the lower left prong go up and towards the left a little(over the corner of the diamond) that the prongs will be perfect and the tilt of the diamond will be centered. But really, if it were not for you asking and pointing it out in the picture I would have never noticed that your ring was off

Oh dear.

I know that Pearlmans will set it to rights, but I''m so sorry that you''ve had another setback.

Thanks everyone, I''m glad you can see what I am talking about.

It sounds like I won''t be able to have it fixed in time. Should I give her the ring the way it is and have it fixed later? Or should I postpone?

I am so sorry to hear that...How long would that take to fix the problem according to Pearlmans? Did they give any other suggestions?

Personally, I will be so upset to have my new gorgeous ring pull away from me regardless the reason.

asu- i read your other thread. sorry to hear you've gone through such an ordeal. it's too bad the ring can't be fixed within your timeframe. i'd be pretty upset if i had to send my ering away after receiving it... unless you were really set on a specific proposal date, i'd get it fixed first. that way, when you do give it to her, you both can enjoy everything without any issues.

Sorry your going through this, hopefully they can fix it soon

I honestly didn''t see that the ring was slanted until you mention it but I hope they fix the ring to your satisfactions :)

So, I talked with Jason today and he promised to get it back to me on time and it would be perfect. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I am going to figure out a back up plan.

Thanks everyone for your concern! This has been an ubelievably frustrating experience for me, and without your support I probably would have lost it a long time ago.

Yikes, that is crazy about Bill Barnes! I''m sure Pearlman''s will make it right for you. Everything I''ve read here about them as far as customer service and fixing mistakes has been stellar!

But it is a beautiful ring!

Truthfully, I doubt anyone would notice this at a casual glance. I''m sure that is why Pearlman''s did not catch it. I''d call them and see if they''ll let you overnight it back on their account (because they get better insurance than you would), and maybe they can fix it and overnight it back.

I am overnighting it tomorrow.

I''ll keep everyone updated!

Any updates?

Gorgeous ring! I do see what you mean about it being crooked, though - my stone sits in the setting crooked also and it drives me crazy. My jeweler told me that I would have to replace the head on my setting though, which would cost several hundred dollars, so I''m just waiting to get a totally new setting.

It''s great that Pearlman''s will take care of it though - I really love the stone and setting!

just now seeing this. I''m sorry you had to send it back. I''d love to hear the update too..

Not yet...

I know Ritani had it and sent it back to Pearlmans and it wasn''t corrected. They are currently working on it again.
