So as it turns out...maybe...NOT a heart attack?

Slightly more promising news for me to read this morning, and may it continue & you are able to go home whilst they figure this out & make a plan.

And wow, you look sexy as!!
Apart from your poor arms & hands, obviously. Those bits look like they've had a little car crash...

More healing dust & hugs!

This made me laugh: my hands have had 'a little car crash' - too funny! And - YES!!

As for 'sexy' - I stared at my photo when I read your comment, and the only thing that struck me is that my face looks a little fat. So I suppose perspective is everything. I do prefer *your* perspective tho - so thank you! :))

@mrs-b Well across the miles you couldn't get a bigger coincidence than that! :mrgreen2:
I went to boarding school in Whitby!
Yes I know all the history and also the links with Dracula which I love! I count Whitby very much as my second home and would love to move back there at some point in the future. I think it has a very special atmosphere!

I'm off to find some pics to take you on a virtual tour! Back soon! ;)2

Good news you can go home soon!!!

I hope there will be no more flare ups or at least more manageable ones...

Hugs and healing vibes!

Continued Prayers Mrs B xo

Continued prayers for healing go out to you today Mrs-B. I hope you are feeling better.

Praying for you @mrs-b - as much as I possibly can. I wish I could do more. Love you - Q

@Niffler!! I know Whitby! I've visited and stayed there when I lived in England. And it's a HUGELY personal place for me. I'm not sure if you know that Whitby is the port from which James Cook departed on his voyage to 'discover' Australia.

When I was in England, I was very, very homesick. When we visited Whitby, I remember standing on the cliffs and looking out to sea, and wishing that I, like Cook, could voyage to Australia and rediscover my homeland.

So 2 years ago, when I changed my first and middle names (yes - that happened, but that's another story) - I legally took Whitby as my middle name, because for so much of my life I have felt as tho, both externally and internally, I've been on a voyage to find my way home. And it also represents an acknowledgment of my Australian heritage and who I truly am. So - the cat is now out of the bag; my legal first and middle names are Hollian Whitby.

And now I feel as tho I should be asking you if you'd like to be my new best friend! :))

And btw, Whitby had the best spotted dick I've ever had. It's also where my husband took his best ever photo. He stood on the cliff/headland where the cemetery and desolate church ruins are, and the shot is taken through the expanse of tombstones, down to the bustling town beneath. It was a bleak day with black clouds overhead, the cold ocean in the background, and in the middle, the town, filled with people living in either defiance or ignorance of what was clearly ahead. Awesome photo.

I was almost too afraid to google "spotted dick"! :lol-2: :lol-2: :lol-2:

I hope you are feeling better and are on your way to a speedy recovery.

I hope you are home spending time with your dear husband. Sending prayers and dust.

I knew that spotted dick was a dessert, but I am not sure I ever saw a photo of it before. I am not wild about raisins, although I tolerate them for the right dessert or muffin (read: bread pudding or bran muffin) if they show up in it. Are the "spots" in spotted dick raisins?

Well, I looked them up and they are currants. But I am not about to try to make a batch of spotted dick because I have been stopped by two essential ingredients: caster sugar and shredded beef suet. Now I have seen caster sugar for sale before, although I cannot remember where, but I don't believe I have ever run into shredded beef suet before!

The recipe looks good, though.

Yep it's one of those traditional 'ye olde English' recipes. Suet is a traditional ingredient in both savoury and sweet puddings. It is a way of using beef fat and was very popular in Victorian times.

Me too! My eye bugged out and thought it can’t be what it sounds like!

@mrs-b I hope you are home and jeez you can tell you had an IV.. when I had my 2nd hip replacement I used tell my husband that the vampire nurses come on at night and sucked my blood away! I Hope you are feeling on par girl.. You are special. xoxoxoxoxo

I generally don't care for raisins. My grandfather used to make his own from grapes he grew so store bought are a huge disappointment. I got hold of a bag of this one type and was very impressed. You might give them a try if you ever get a chance. They are huge and absolutely delicious. I use them in baking, stuffing for our Thanksgiving turkey, and just to eat as a yummy snack.

Good to have an update from you, @mrs-b; sending more well wishes and fairy dust your way to speed you toward recovery.

Here I am in hospital this afternoon - best day I've had, pain-wise. It wasn't as heavy, didn't last as long, and I recuperated more quickly. The tests they're running won't be back for a few days, so my attending cardiologist said I could go home for a few days till they work out how to proceed. Am now also seeing rheumatologists, who are checking me out for large vessel vasculitis, and they need an ultrasound of my temporal artery to make sure I "Don't go blind over the weekend while you're at home." (well, cheers to that!) But assuming that goes well, I'll leave tomorrow, probably in the afternoon.

I'll have to come back; the more time that goes by, the more this is looking like something surgical - but we'll see. In the meantime I'm taking home basically a pharmacy to manage my symptoms during the adrenalin/pain surges, so I'm hoping all will be well.

And here I am, just off the phone with my cardiologist, pretty damn pleased about leaving!! Fingers crossed the ultrasound goes well. And that I don't...er...go blind...over the weekend. Seriously, I know they're trying, but a few social skills wouldn't hurt, y'know?

@mrs-b so glad to see your update. You are beautiful btw! You radiate peace, calm and serenity. I hope you are at home now resting. I'm asking the universe to take care of you- as are so many.

Whitby looks like a magical place. I loved looking at your pictures @Niffler75.

Ms. Hollian Whitby, you look abloom

But I agree, mottled purple spots really aren’t your colour or pattern. I am very hopeful the next round of investigations is a little more complementary - to both your outsides and your innards!

Take care my dear. Your pharmacy-at-home will help with that! Please keep us updated here - it’s good to hear how you’re doing :))

The recipe looks good, though.

You can make caster sugar if you grind regular table sugar in a mill to be a finer crystal (but not as fine as powdered sugar). And you can definitely make spotted dick with any other sort of fat like butter. I believe the texture is just a bit different.

I just have to get through tonight / tomorrow morning without an unmanageable flare. And I need the temporal artery ultrasound to be ok. If that happens, I'm a lock to go home - at least for a few days. if nothing else, it will give my poor arms a chance to explore a color other than purple before I have to come back for whatever procedures they require next week.

These photos are the better view. My poor hands and wrists are like the remains of a land mine.

Hi @mrs-b Just checking in.
Here is a photo of Whitby in the UK, one of my absolute fave places. I lived here for 5 years. It's a beautiful coastal town with lots of history, cobbled streets, quirky shops and great fossil hunting on the beach!

ive never seen pictures of Whitby before but i have a huge amount of respect and admiration for Captain Cook

And I'm home. No diagnosis as yet, still waiting for results to come back. Came home and fell asleep sitting up on my sofa. Called my best girlfriend in Australia this evening and she led out by saying "I'm sorry I woke you up."

I said - "You didn't wake me up - I called you."

Her - "No, I mean earlier when I called."

Me - "Oh - did you speak to DH? I didn't hear the phone - you didn't wake me."

Her - "Um - you answered the phone. We spoke."

Me - "We DID??"

So - yeah - I'm that tired. But I'm home, and I so love you all for your support and friendship. It made an inestimable difference - it truly did. Hospital at the moment is such a lonely, dare I say terrifying place. I heard a bunch of "Covid 19 Code Blue" calls while I was there - and the saddest ones were when the announcement came, a few minutes later, "Covid 19 Code Blue alert - cancelled."

On the other hand, BIDMass is playing a few bars of Neil Diamond's 'Sweet Caroline' every time someone with Covid is successfully released, and that was happening all through every day. I wish someone could somehow get a message to Neil Diamond to let him know how much joy that song has for a whole bunch of people at the moment, and how much it lifts the spirits of people hanging on by a thin thread.

Thank you, PriceScope friends; you were, each and every one, my own, personal, Sweet Carolines. I'm hoping when we finally get a diagnosis that it will be a thing that can be addressed, solved, and moved on from.

Unlike that dangling preposition, that I already fear will haunt me forever.

Love to you all. <3
