Hello,

I am using the price comparison tool on Pricescope and see that it asks for "table" figures and "depth" figures. I am little confused, though, because I looked at some EGL diamonds last night and saw some other terms such "Table Depth," "Pavilion Depth," and "Table Width." Could someone tell me how to match what I am seeing on these EGL reports with what Pricescope is asking for? Also a laymans explanation of depth and table would be very helpful...Thank you very much for your help.

Here''s a visual.

iwannaprettystone,

Thank you for the visual. I also took a look at some of the tutorial information and want to confirm my understanding. I am using the stone below as an example. "Depth" as used by the Pricing Comparison tool should be the summation of of "Crown Height (CH)" and "Pavilion Depth (PD)?" In other words 57% is what would be typed into the Pricing Comparison tool for "Depth" on the stone below? I also imagine that "Table Width(TW)" is what you would type in for "Table?" What is the difference between Table Depth (as seen below) and Crown Height (also as seen below)? Thank you for your help.
EGL
Round Brilliant
1.71 carats
7.79-7.73 x 4.70mm
TD: 60.6%
TW: 56%
CH: 14%
PD: 43%
Girdle: Medium FAC
Polish: Very Good
Symetry: Excellent
Cutlet None
VS1
G
Fluoresence: Moderate Blue
8 Hearts and 8 Arrows
Excellent Ideal Cut

Also what is "Table Depth?" That appears on some EGL reports but not on your visual. It also seems confusing since the table is horizontally aligned and depth describes something that is vertically aligned.

TD= Total Depth not Table Depth, so in this case you would enter 60.6% and Table Width 56%

Just a friendly word, EGL diamonds can be beautiful but you might do a search on here to read about some of the pitfalls you might encounter regarding appraisal pricing and soft color grading.

Make sure it is a USA LA or NY lab and not Israel. Good Luck!
