She will love it! Have a great time in Hawaii and don''t forget to get hand shots to post asap.

So I just returned from Hawaii and had to share my joy with the Pricescope family. The beach proposal/surprise went off without a hitch and the diamong ring glowed like a disco ball. Thanks to Pricescope and Good Old Gold for a job well done :)

This is a great idea. I too have decided to go with a smaller higher quality stone. The one thing I might suggest is that a colorless, flawless rock that is poorly cut is going to be just that, a rock. For example, I have found that a lot of the big chains will try and sell you a larger rock with great color and clarity and charge a premium for that color and clarity. When you put those stones up to smaller "flawed" well cut stones that cost less, the better cut smaller stone will sparkle more and will be more noticable at a distance than the larger colorless flawless rock. If you''re on a tight budget and looking for something smaller but special, look for things with very good to ideal cuts in the G/H, SI1 range. In many cases you can''t even tell the difference between a good SI1 with a few bubbles and those of higher clarity. Pricescope has many .5c HA with these spects that would fall in your price range. You could probably even go with a colorless diamond that is well cut and stay within your budget. Of course if your really set on getting her a flawless diamond then thats what you should go with. Also there are plenty of setting out there that hold the diamond close to the hand so I wouldn''t worry too much about that. Just some suggestions. Good luck!

Congratulations! Y''all are such an adorable couple and the ring looks even more stunning on her finger!

Awww, what a good looking couple you are! And how happy she looks...good job!

Congradulations!

First of all, $2,000 isn''t a small budget - but after your post i''d be shy to say whta i''m gonna spend on a ring :)

In any case, I think FLAWLESS symbolizes a lot, and you should stick with it. You can get a very nice half-carat FLAWLESS with E-F color, GIA certified (or AGS), for under $2,000.

Daniel.

Beautiful ring and beautiful couple! I think you remind me of Enrique Iglesias but with longer hair...and that''s a huge compliment in my book! heheh

REALLY?

When I ran an ideal cut search I found a .44 F VVS1 for $2000 and a .53 F VVS1 for $2800. Definitely not 1/2c E/F IF/FL for 'under $2,000'.

ETA..thelittleguy...you two look like models for a tropical ad! Too cute.

You chose a beautiful diamond, a beautiful setting, and a beautiful bride-to-be! Congratulations on your engagement!!! Thanks for posting pics.

You two look absolutely adorable and cute. My fiance saw that and said, "Is that a real couple or did they steal that from an ad?"
