Hi all, I wear a size 9 ring and have very stubby, short fingers. Despite the fact that rings really never look good on me for this reason, I still want to get a solitaire for my 25th anniversary (which is actually 3 years away but I'm planning ahead, LOL). I have an 80-point family stone that was recut by BGD; I had them make it into a pendant because I decided it was just too small as a ring (for me personally). I don't need or want a huge stone, so what is the smallest carat size that would look proportional on my finger? Interested in an OEC. Thanks for any help with this.

I think it's all in how you set it.... if you are planning a halo then you are able to go smaller and still get coverage. Have you decided what style setting?

7-7.5mm??? It would be bigger but not real big. I think you could use the design of the ring to elongate your finger. I'm not
sure I would do just a solitaire. I might do something that gave it some N/S width.

If I see anything like I'm talking about I'll post a link.

Thank you so much everyone, that was so helpful :)
