I feel like I am the most annoying person on this forum right now with all my halo questions..... :(

I know a lot of you have Emilya halo settings by VC. I am waiting on a quote from my jeweler for a similar look. I have a quote from Victor already. I will weigh my two options after I receive the quote.

When I sat down with him to "plan out" the halo, it seemed to me that 1 pointers were the best fit- didn't overwhelm the center stone, and looked "dainty."

I was wondering if any of you could tell me the size of the melee on your halos? Thanks so much!

My 2.22 stone has 1.3 mm halo (not VC). I've read a similar sized stone with Emilya halo by VC that was 1.5 mm but because it's angled it usually looks a little smaller than your typical flatter 1.5 mm halo. Hope that helps. You can see pics of my ring under my topics with the thread scribing my ring.

your ring is BEAUTIFUL! :o I love it! Thanks so much for your response! I am still waiting on my quote from my jeweler....

Thank you! It was hard for me to decide between a local jeweler and the VC Emilya which is just gorgeous. I always thought I wanted a very thin band (like 1.8 mm) but when the jeweler showed me how much more each diamond pops with the 2.2 mm shared prong band- I was sold. If you use a local jeweler you may want to rely less on the exact numbers and take a look at their work to know what the final product may look like. Good luck with your decision!

my wedding band (which my jeweler made) is 2.5mm. So he would make the band the same size.

my issues if I go with VC:

1. Do I wear it without a band for now?
2. I know hubby is not going to spring for an extra $2200 VC matching band when I already HAVE a wedding band.
3. Do I just wear the emilya WITH my old band?
4. Do I just spring for the spacer and wear it with my old band?

UGH!!!!!

Right now I'm wearing my old wedding band with current e-ring and they don't match perfectly but oh we'll. You could always sell your wedding band and use the money towards a new one (although it may be too sentimental). You could also try to find a fake wedding band that looks good with your new setting if you don't like wearing the Emilya or new setting alone. I would get the e-ring setting you want and then wait it out for the wedding band. You may also find one being sold on here for a discount.

Hey soxfan!!

I'm so excited that you're going with the VC Emilya!!! I don't think you'll regret it one bit! I understand your struggle to decide on the band issue... this is what I would do...

If you most definitely want to wear a band with your ering, then go ahead and wear your old band with the Emilya - put it up for sale and wear it until it sells. Or you could simply forego the band until it sells. Personally, I would want the VC band, but that's just a personal preference. Who knows, you may decide that you don't mind wearing the old and new together. :)) Of course, new band at Christmas is always a good compromise! Regardless of what you decide, I would definitely get a very thin (1mm or less) spacer to help protect your rings.

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I don't think my jeweler is going to come close to VC's price, so it's likely. I think I will have my husband get me the spacer and band for Christmas, and just enjoy wearing the emilya buy itself until then so I can see that beautiful donut I love so much!!!!!!! :D I am also thinking about a custom blue sapphire and diamond wedding band made by VC! I thought that might be pretty? But DEFINITELY on the spacer. Which I may just suck up and buy now so in the meantime, it can't be that expensive?

Hi, again! I guess I'm confused - In a different thread, you seemed to make it sound like you really wanted to wear your original wedding band and that was part of your dilemma. Now you're saying that it isn't sentimental to you at all and you would consider selling it??

yes, that is exactly what I am saying. After speaking with Victor, he told me that they would not match very well. I guess I will have to SEE the completed ring to know exactly...

Also, I find it more than a bit creepy that since I've started posting here, people have gone back to read all my threads trying to "catch" me in some kind of lie or contradiction.

It's pretty simple: I have a LOYALTY to my jeweler. He is a good friend of ours. I LOVE VC's work. And I love the Emilya halo. This is an incredibly hard decision for me and there are lots of factors involved. I am all over the place. However, I don't' think I am that much more indecisive than many people who's posts I've read regarding their setting decisions....

Would I LIKE to use my existing wedding band? Yes. Do I like the emilya enough to get a new one? Yes. There is nothing more to it.

that was rude of me. I can see why you are confused. And I am REALLY confused on what I want. I need to just step away from overthinking this ring business right now and take a break. I apologize...

First of all, I am not trying to "catch" you in any way. I have been interested in your story and to see how it all unfolds. You have been very open, have posted several threads, and have been asking fora lot of advice and suggestions. Yes, I have noticed some inconsistencies but I was just seeking clarification because it is hard to help you when your vision keeps changing. However, I don't at all hold that against you because these are extremely important decisions, which is why you are looking for help on this forum to begin with. I hope it all works out for you.

I have at least ruled out the solitaire? I've gotten that far.....
