I am thinking about putting a simulated sapphire into a white gold w/ baguette channel setting. Will anyone be able to tell that it is a "fake"? Is there anyway to choose a "good" simulated sapphire?
A synthetic blue sapphire will look pretty much identical to an average quality genuine blue sapphire. No one but a gemologist will be able to tell at all. No gemologist can tell without closely examining the stone.
Buy an inexpensive one as they really are not different from some that cost more... I imagine $5 to $20 per carat will find some available.
