Similar Embedded Wedding and Engagement Rings

For me. My bf and I have started looking. We're in Chicago.

Claude Thibaudeau does a lot of settings in that style. I think Simon G might also have a few settings that are similar.

Here's a Simon G, MR1939.

The jeweler who did my ring has this posted on her site with a mix of two metals that I thought was interesting - the design is quite avant garde as well, perhaps not as classic as what you're looking for, but thought I'd chuck this in there in case you were considering mixed metals.

I actually have one of these rings! I love it, however it does become quite a wide band so make sure you're sized correctly for the estimated width - maybe try on some mens rings and see what width you're comfortable with. Resizing can also be difficult depending on the design, so if there are children or weight gain/loss in your near future it's something to consider RE: sizing.

There can also be issues with the e-ring going out of round/line when worn individually (ie, during your engagement), so speak to the jeweller about this.

Very valuable information. Thanks so much!

Hi Gtg308x,

I was wondering what is your thought process behind choosing this style? I know many women like to wear their rings separately on certain occasions. No criticism or judgement at all! Just curious why this style intrigues you?

Sure! I rarely wear jewelry now. I also have found out recently that I am allergic to gold and silver, so I have to wear platinum. Maybe that factors into why I don't wear jewelry? I also, personally, think I have small hands and kind of thick fingers (my ring size is a 6), so I think less would be better for me. With the combination of the three factors above, I found the "duo" / "Embedded" / whatever you want to call it - might be easier to get used to. Also, I don't see a lot of people with it! Hope this helps!

It does help - People find their passion for jewelry in different ways, and it is always great to find out what passions (or practical reasons) a person has for making their choices.

The only other consideration I'd think about is that, by necessity, these settings are higher than a non embeded style. My friend had a setting like this made for her by a shop in Naples. But, she kept hitting the ering head on everything. So, she is approaching GreenLake Jewellers to make a single wider setting that will be cast as a single piece, but looks like a ering and wedding band. This will simplify re-sizing, as well, as she hand one ring to manage.

She wants something cleaner and less swoopy than this ring, but this was my inspiration for her.
