Sidestones for mahenge spinel?

18.gif
YUMMY!!!!

Oh TL, those are a perfect color. I vote the dark blue.

Ooooh, I am loving the sapphires TL posted the most!

Because of this I''m looking for my own Mahenge. You owe me!

Blue sapphires please!! I love it.

Wow! I think the blue side stones look great as well.

Oh you hush! Don''t you remember my little hot pink oval?

LOL!! Your ONE hot pink oval?

Well, my collection is pretty tiny now, but is also includes a black cherry spinel, a color shift sapph (gold and pink), a color shift garnet, also a pinkish one, and a golden sapph, plus my two light pink spinels (vatche repro and bev k) and the peach spinel patrick irla ring. Those must count for something.

Oh yes, I do remember the lovely pink spinel Bev K ring. I thought you avoided very hot pinks though.

Lol. No. One is actually on my "Gotta have it!" list. That''s how I ended up with the tiny oval...perfect color, but WAY too small, and an oval, but I grabbed it anyway. I have a setting planned for that little guy, and hopefully within the next couple of months, I''ll be able to get that working. I like hot pinks...but I don''t do reds, oranges or yellows...unless it''s a light buttery yellow.

See? I have issues.

But we all knew that already.

How about Indicolites?

The Mahenge fever is spreading.

Yes, I have Mahenge fever now too. Are there some pills I can take for it or something?

Who wouldn''t want a piece of this???? (pic by V. Pardieu)

I''m not crazy about indicolites because they don''t have the sparkle factor to match the spinel, and they tend to look blue topaz like or too dark. Some have garrish color, while I think a nice pair of sapphires would compliment the spinel nicely, and make the ring look like a richer piece.

Oh dear I always go against the flow!

I find that multi-stone rings can look a bit "costume jewellery". There ARE exceptions but ....... Eeek! You're all going to shout at me now aren't you?

And just before you all stone me to death ......... I thought this might help you visualise different colourways. This is a multi stone ring (peridot, amethyst, garnet and I can't remember what else) set in white gold.

Edit: Ignore the rubbish bezel work - what can I say!!!!

Ooooooh, cool design LD. I am thinking up something like that for a seven spinel ring.

Mini threadjack for TL (apologies Uppy)

Here it is on the hand so you can see the design better:

Thanks LD!!! Very pretty!

I love that confetti look!

I guess I should just stick with classic.

Yeah! Way to go Uppy! Hopefully in the next few weeks my Mahenge will be done (with diamond sides) so if you're still undecided at that point I'll happily post up pictures so you can see how the combo works. I've only got the CADs at the mo which don't really show the sparkle.

Don't rule out the OMCs though will you? I have a feeling that the shape will go very nicely with the Mahenge. If they've only got a hint of yellow then they may compliment very well.

Oh, I really like this! I saw this vintage ring on the right and mocked this up.

I like the deco look of the stepped baguettes. It kind of plays off the mixed step cut of the spinel.

Uppy - we''re design twins! Here''s the CAD for my Mahenge!

Looks lovely! Who is doing it for you?
