Side stones for a 3 stone ring

Hello All:

I am considering the purchase of a 1.9 carat OEC - for a future 3 stone ring. I would like the center stone to stand out and my finger isn't too large, size 4.5. What size do you recommend for the side stones? I was thinking .75 each? The stone I am considering is 7.9 mm. Suggestions would help. Thank you.

I am just going through the same dilemma and we are working with similar proportions. If you want the center to "stand out", I would recommend going with much smaller sides. .75 each would be too big. I started with thinking 0.72 and they literally look the same from far away. The center stone blends in and the overall look is more of a "wall of bling" vs a center that shines. I would say max 0.5 each and I have actually decided to go even smaller to really accentuate the center.

Hi Queenie60,
My avatar is a 3 stone AVR ring and I have a size 5 finger. My center is 2.02ct and 8mm, the sides are .56 (5.2mm) and .59 cts (5.3mm). I might have gone smaller on the sides if a pair of AVRs had come up that were the right color, but I snatched these because the pairs are harder to get. You can see more photos with the link below. Keep in mind that you may not want the sides to be too big depending on your setting choice, or they won't tuck properly and you may get a bulge on the sides or a more bulky look. Hope this helps!

The ring in my avatar is 2.19 center (8.38 mm) and .33 each side stones. Attached another photo for size reference.
