Hi all, I recently discovered this site, and I can''t believe I didn''t know about it before. My husband and I are working with our jeweler to create a three stone ring from my engagement ring. The center stone is round brilliant approx. 1.8 ct (D, SI2, 7.8mm). We can''t decide on the size of the side stones. We originally picked out side stones that are 0.71ct (D, SI2, 2.8mm) and 0.75 (E, SI2, 2.8mm) to be placed in a low-basket setting. But after seeing all the beautiful pics on this site, I started second guessing our choice, so asked the jeweler not to make the ring yet. I am afraid that it may look too big on my small sz 4 finger. Is that ratio good/proportional? Are the side-stones too big that it takes away from the center stone? I am not quite sure if I should go a little smaller and get 0.5ct. I don''t think I would go smaller than that.
I saw this pic and love the look of it.
