Hi, I’m not a diamond guru but there’s more than just inclusions to consider when buying a diamond.
The “big one” is cut because if it’s not great, your diamond will look dull and flat. And seeing as the sparkle and scintillation is why you’re buying a diamond in the first place, it matters.
The diamond shown the photos it has a significant chip (or natural) to the girdle and quite noticeable inclusions. And the cut seems poor.
Do you have the angles ( the report that gives all the % angles for table, crown etc) to put the number in the HCA calculator to check it’s expected performance.
I think it all comes down to cost/size requirements/tolerance for inclusions. Its a tough decision and most would recommend that you reduce the
size and go for a cleaner stone or up the budget.
Can you post the GIA/AGS report so we can have a look at the cut?
That looks bad. Most likely not eye clean and the chip looks like it could get worse/get snagged or caught on things and damage the diamond further. Unless this is a super bargain (i.e. cheap cheap cheap) I would stay away.
There are plenty of other questions about the stone, many of which can be answered by posting the cert, but the cleavage on the girdle is a definite durability issue. That should probably be repaired unless you plan on setting the stone in a bezel.
Can you tell us more about why you are considering that diamond? I would personally stay far away but I keep thinking that there could be some compelling reason why you are considering it.
