Hi all,

Hoping someone might be able to provide some advice here.

I'm currently looking at the below diamond. I see it's rated SI2 however is still classified as "eye-clean" which I really hope is actually the case. I don't really know HP Diamonds too well so i'm not sure how reliable their classification of eye clean is.

The other question I had, and appreciate it may be difficult to tell just by looking at the pictures, is whether anyone has an opinion on whether the inclusions could affect the durability and increase the vulnerability of the diamond? I like that the price seems quite attractive for a diamond of this size, however I just worry whether the durability or eye cleanliness are things I should still be concerned about in others' opinion?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If HPD says it’s eye clean, trust it.
If you have questions about how this clarity grade may impact the stone, talk to the gemologist, and get clarification.
HPD has a stellar reputation, and their super-ideals are fantastic.
Good luck in your search!!!

CBI is pretty conservative with their eye clean designations. I'd say it is fine. Wink can tell you if there's any durability issues but again, I doubt it.

I would totally trust them if they say it’s eye clean..

A very nice looking SI2 stone with no clouds!

White/see-through crystals and zero clouds is exactly the sort of SI2 one should want - no dark crystals to reflect within the stone, and no loss of transparency from clouds :)

Don't forget - HPD / CBI have their 'see it to believe it' money-back guarantee, and you can always upgrade later if you decide it's not 100% 'mind clean' :)

Thanks, that's good to hear! I'll definitely be mind clean as long as it is eye clean clean and i'm not able to identify any inclusions when looking at it. I'd happily order it and return it if it wasn't however I live in Australia so the cost to return a diamond makes this option it unfeasible unfortunately.

I was previously limiting my search to Whiteflash as I've heard great things about them however it sounds like people on here certainly have a high opinion of HP Diamonds as well and their claims around the eye clean nature of their diamonds (even SI2 diamonds) so it sounds like it should be fine to go with this one then.

Thanks all so much for your help!!

Buying from overseas does make things more complicated, unfortunately, but the performance of CBIs is ridiculously good so I am certain you will love it!

I got a small (by PS standards) CBI for my good lady - I can't tell you how many hours I lost playing with it in different lights :D lol

You could ask Wink to make a video for you. He has really good eyes and can be honest if it's eye clean :) and we always love his commentary

That looks like a good SI2 ... With CBIs I would go for an SI2 as well
