Show Us Your Christmas Table

This thread inspired me to break out with our heirloom china, given to us by my husband's aunt. The pattern is small bonsai trees in gold....she also gave us the gold plated cutlery! We are hand washing everything I guess!

And I came back to drool over the wine.

Maybe I'll post one with the wine later....my brother who is bringing the wine is LATE! I had to grab champagne and sparking cider for the picture!

Of all things to be late with - the wine.

Understood about being too busy! We had a second table this weekend and I barely had time to see it let alone get a picture of it.

That is cool your sister has the same pattern. DH and I just decided in November to get Christmas dishes and we liked it the best of the patterns we could find locally.

OK I forgot to take one when it was all done with the bread plates on the correct side and stemware out (not to mention everything spaced right) but here are a few pics that I did manage to take of when it was in the middle of being set.

Thank you Marcy. I really liked having a white and silver tree. And so I just wanted the table to work with that.

The really prefer cloth napkins whenever I have guests. I've had good luck with the 6 packs of the buffet napkins from World Market. They're pretty decent. I have several colors. All cotton so you have to iron. But they're nice.

Gypsy, I like white and silver and silver and red combinations for Christmas. They really stand out in my humble opinion. I think I will check around for napkins. I am horrid at ironing but DH takes his suits and shirts to the cleaners so they could easily go there if I got something that needed pressed. Those broaches would make fantastic napkin rings. I do have 6 candy cane, 2 M&M and 4 stars napkins already with napkin rings. I will get them out this weekend. DH will be impressed and suspicious that I want something.

And with napkins if you take them out of the dryer still damp you can get most of the wrinkles out.

Too funny that you love my plates. I think the red plates tie the other plates together really well, the colors are a good combo. I got the tablecloth at Kohls. We have a plaid one for our old table too that has reindeer in it. I was looking for another one of those but couldn't find one.

Love everybody's Christmas tables. We usually do buffet, so I do not have my china on the table. Waterford wine glasses get used only once a year. I make the table decorations myself with greens and berries from my yard, pine branches with cones, Nandina leaves and berries.

Art Nouveau, your table and decorations look wonderful. I was just browsing after Christmas closeouts for napkins, napkin rings and was admiring the Waterford snowflake crystal. Holiday tables are fun.
