Love this!! Can I ask what your ring size is and what the ctw/measurements of your three stone are please? The proportions are perfect! Thank you so much for sharing and keeping this thread alive.

@maryjane04 I'm a 5.75, this is a 6. My measuring thingie is out of battery, so according to the manual one, width is around 6.5 mm and length is around 16 mm. I'd have to dig the insurance docs but I remember the middle being around 1 ct and the sides .8 something. The diamonds are from old brooch, setting is new. I'd like a more appropriate setting with an arthritis shank (my real size is 5.5 but my knuckles are not cooperating).

Thank you so much!! How amazing that they lived their previous life as a brooch and now being worn so much more in a ring! Ahh I am sorry that your knuckles make it difficult. If it's uncomfortable would you be able to reset it? So I think from your information.. I need a 3 stone and faces up something like 18mm in length hehehe.

It's very comfy but I want a setting that's more period appropriate.

Ahh yes that would be so good. But it looks pretty right now so take your time resetting! I have a cluster that I want to reset but am holding onto my pennies right now.

My new spontaneous purchase! The center OEC is supposedly 1.01 ct H-I SI1 plus .28ct near colorless small diamonds and .29 ct in emeralds. It is an old platinum setting and looks gorgeous but we shall see what it is really like once it arrives. My question is what do you think is a reasonable price for something like this? I don't know vintage prices and want to make sure I didn't overpay for it. It looks amazing though and the website usually takes awful photos so we shall see. I am excited about it!ENGRI30912_3_enlarged.jpg.jpegENGRI30912_1_enlarged.jpg.jpegENGRI30912_4_enlarged.jpg.jpegENGRI30912_5_enlarged.jpg.jpegENGRI30912_3_enlarged.jpg.jpegENGRI30912_1_enlarged.jpg.jpegENGRI30912_4_enlarged.jpg.jpegENGRI30912_5_enlarged.jpg.jpeg

Now I'm thinking that maybe the center stone is a transitional cut not an OEC?

SO JEALOUS!! That's beautiful! 1 carat oecs can go for 3-5 k loose, so I'd guess 5k or less was a deal. I love emerald accents, it's my birthstone.

Thank you! That would mean that it was a good deal. I hope so as I would hope it would retain value for my daughter someday. I think the emeralds really set it off nicely.

It's gorgeous. I agree with the 5k ballpark number

This isn't on the level of most of the purchases in this thread, but I finally, after months of trying to find the right piece, purchased myself a swirly art nouveau ring. (Vendor's pic)

That's so charming--and I love that seller! I've bought several things from her. They've always been better than the pictures, and she's so nice.

Ok so now the rest of us want to know the swirly ring vendor!! @molecule

Not mine, but it's from MouseshouseAntiques. I've bought a couple items from her recently, and am eyeing about 10 others! :roll2: She's on PS, but I can't remember her name. She's wonderful!!!! :kiss2:

Might as well post mine!

I also bought this, which is one of my favorite pieces. I'm a sucker for bows.

@RRfromR Do you have a thread on this OMC 3 stone? I would love to know more, and see more of the setting.

Nope, but I can make one. The setting is new, I'm not crazy about it, it's a simple basic one. Will post the appraisal details when I dig them out.

This ring is decidedly devoid of bling, but I recently inherited a (I’m told) sardonyx and platinum ring that was a gift from my grandfather to my grandmother. It is unfortunately too small for my ring finger and too big for my pinky, so I’m not sure what I will do with it. I’m not too fond of the stone’s aesthetic as it is now. My first thought was to have someone put a diamond in the center like you see in many antique black onyx rings. The shank is very thin.

@RMOO Very cool ring! I had to google sardonyx, as I'd never heard of it!

Me either, until I was given this ring. I saw my mother wear this a handful of times (it was her mother’s) but never knew what it was or where it came from. She had it appraised 25 years ago and was told it was sardonyx. That makes sense because my grandmother’s birthday was in August and it is one of that months birthstones.
