I missed out on a different antique five stone, so got this one instead as a consolation prize!

Its about 1 CTW beautifully wonky OECs. Stones range about J-L, so they have a lovely ivory/creamy color.

She's at the jewelers to get sized from a 4 3/4 to a 6 1/4 -- which will cost $170. Ouch! Gold is expensive.

I'm now absolutely obsessed with five stone/half hoop rings!!

Got a new one in today! Victorian split pearl and turquoise 9 kt ring.

With hallmarks for Birmingham 1877! And a maker's mark (second image) inside a rectangle that I'm 90% sure reads ".F.B." -- but why would there be a dot before the F ??

The gold has seen better days, but I'll probably leave it as is.

I'm also sad to say I've already!! lost a split pearl from this one...

I’ve been looking at pics of my engagement ring shopping (three years ago, married 2019) as I plan to upgrade my original e-ring with something sturdier.

Here is the day we found my 1920s OEC .66ct in onyx with two tiny single cut side stones at the shank and a very narrow band.

I always thought I’d opt for a huge dinner ring or center stone but when we found this at Lang antiques in San Francisco, it felt like there was a collective gasp in the shop. I didn’t want to take it off. I’ve had a couple close calls where the prongs will catch in my hair and I can feel the onyx get loose. They’re always so good about repairing it for me but my husband says I need a “daily driver” e-ring so I’m designing an antique pear signet solitaire with David Klass.

I wish I could share all the other rings that didn’t make the cut while I was shopping around. Some were sooo bad. It’s only been three years but my taste has matured for the better, thank goodness!

Hey everyone,

Some delightful examples on here, you all have exceptional taste! My wife andI are eyeing up this beautiful Art deco two stone ring from a small family based jewellers in England, Howell 1870. Can you believe it they've been established for over 150 years! madness. This is the ring:

I really love this. It’s so romantic and timeless, something she’ll be able to wear forever that no one else will have a copy of. I’m definitely inspired to find a toi et moi to wear as an engagement ring!

This ring is stunning! Can’t wait to see what you’re having made by DK.
On the topic of ring shopping, some rings I loved in photos then I tried it on and it was lack luster in person. It’s kind of crazy like that.

@springsparkle wow! stunning, both of them. That emerald is dreamy. And that second pic of them together, from the side :kiss2:

@lexcaliber Your current ring is lovely, but I definitely understand wanting a sturdier "daily driver"! Can't wait to see your antique pear ring from DK!!

This ring is absolutely stunning!! But hey, if your dh thinks it's a good idea to get another ring, who are we to argue? :D The new ring sounds like it's going to be really beautiful, please come back with pics!

It's supposed to be Burmese sapphires, hence the price. I am sending it in to find out for sure.

Thanks for the compliments! I'm in love. Here's a picture of it with my other unheated rings--Madagascar, Kashmir & Ceylon. I took them out in the afternoon sun! IMG_6598.JPG

Beautiful ring! How fun to see your post pop up because I used to live 2 miles from the Village Goldsmith.
