Gorgeous pieces! The opal ring is an unusual design. Can you tell me some more about the locket/watch?
Ditto on your cameo!

I will post more items soon!
The cameo is 14k, I found it at a thrift store for 50 cents!
The garnet ring was $2.00 at a rummage sale.
The camphor glass necklace is sterling with a paste stone, and it was also a thrift store find.
The opal ring belonged to DH's great grandmother Elizabeth.

This amethyst and houndstooth pearl also belonged to great grandmother Elizabeth.

This sterling and agate pin and pendant were from a thrift store. I think I paid $2.00

These are Wedgwood.
The oval pin has a mark on the back corresponding to the year 1881. It's a large piece, about 2".
The antique sterling bow is actually for a ladies watch, but I hung a Wedgwood pendant from it. This pendant is dated 1961.

I love the amethyst pendant! So special to have inherited pieces as well. You certainly got amazing bargains on the ring and cameo! I need to spend more time rumaging!

This thread inspired me to dig and see what my true antique pieces are. Most of my old cut stones are not in old settings. So I’m only showing original antique/vintage (vintage bc I’m unsure of the age of some of these in particular the gold bands and if they meet the 100 year old threshold)

Yes, they're. Thanks.

BTW, how is your amethyst Deco project going? I was waiting to see it, hehe.

Ha it’s on hold. May go back to it but not for the foreseeable and think I will do a 40s retro ring instead as it will suit the stone more as it’s quite deep. TBH I think I had had enough of custom projects. I got to the point where I decided I wanted to saw what I was getting first!

Mmmmmm - So many gorgeous pieces! The diamond crescent is new right? It’s divine. Is the heart a locket? It’s very unusual. What about the blue sapphire (?) I do not remember seeing that before. The colour is just beautiful.
I have seen your snake pieces before but I hadn’t twigged that you had two snake rings. How do you decide which to wear?! Feel like you are missing a bangle though!

My snake ring is off being resized at the moment. It’s quite an unusual coppery gold colour. It’s also 12ct which I hadn’t come across before. The vendor dated her to about 1870. I will get some better photos when she returns. F98CDD51-583F-4801-B45C-041180AD8611.jpeg

I was surprised the other week when my husband’s Grandmother gave me this ring. It was her Mother in Laws engagement ring and dates to the 1920s. The diamonds are tiny but the middle one does have quite a large culet. I would imagine this did not come off her hand until she died in the mid 1990s. The shank is thin and it’s got holes on both sides. I doubt it’s repairable so it will just have to be worn with care. I will pass it on to my daughter when she turns 18 so she can have something of her Great Great Grandmothers. We do not have any inherited family jewellery so this is a little treasure!

Yes! I just got the crescent from SinCity; I had been wanting one forever. The heart is an art nouveau locket; it's gold filled. The sapphire is a piece I bought a really long time ago before I even knew anything about antique and vintage jewelry and stones. It really is beautiful and I have been wearing it more lately. I just posted it in action on IG. I'm tempted to send off just to see what the stats are and get a gem report on it.

I don't know how I decide haha! I alternate snakes! I don't have enough fingers as it is...

Oh wow, that’s quite a diamond ring collection! Any more photos of the third one down?

Absolutely! That’s Sophia. Here’s her SMTB thread:

Just looked at the video, she is very pretty! I got rid of my two antique pre ps rings some time ago they weren’t such good quality as your sapphire! It’s great when you rediscover something you already had!
Those crescents go too quickly. Are you converting to a pendant? I was looking at crescents and stars yesterday after browsing on the celestial thread but even the pearl or garnet ones are pricey and hard to get hold of!

Yes I am definitely converting to a pendant. I would never wear it as a pin. I just have to wait until I am back in TN - long story but I was in TN during the summer and the crescent was accidentally sent to TX where I usually am! So I just got it but jeweler is in TN. And yes, they are SO expensive because of their popularity. A different piece with the same diamond weight might not cost as much. BUT Diana has the most competitive pricing of any seller I have seen, but stuff goes fast. So I nabbed it when I saw it on her page. I've seen crescents with similar specs on Etsy for 6k etc. Just yikes.

Got you. Yes they are popular at the moment so naturally expensive. I don’t normally wear brooches either but I’ve just bought two of them (the Cameo in my opening post is one). Im not sure I can convert it as I’m not sure about the heat needed next to shell so I may need to start wearing them!

Amazing examples of antique jewels, everybody. Love the amethyst/houndstooth pearl pendant, lockets, old cut and snake pendant/rings in particular! I think some of my brooches and a stick pin qualify.

Definitely! I love the simplicity of the first cameo and that brooch on the right is the most yummy shade of gold! How do you wear your brooches? I’ve just bought a couple and I don’t think I will convert. Do you wear them on coats or blouses or what?
