Show me your Round Stone as a Solitaire and with a Halo/Bezel

@Vanilla Bling 's gorgeous reset to a solitaire got me thinking-halos/ bezels are so visually transformative. While there are many individual SMTB threads of diamonds set as solitaires and then reset with halos/bezels, I couldn't find a centralized reference thread. I thought it might be useful to have one thread with comparison pics for members considering halo/bezel settings. Stone diameter, melee stats (where applicable) and ring size may be useful. I hope you will add your beauties-tagging @diamondseeker2006 @missy @LLJsmom @bright ice @nala @YadaYadaYada to start.

Here's mine: 4.11 ct M/VS1 @10.7mm in diameter. Halo consists of 1.5 mm full cut I/J rounds and straight baguettes are 1.5 mm x 3 mm and 1.5 mm x 4 mm. Halo is 14.8 mm x 18.4 mm on a size 6.5 finger. Ring is a size 7 so I can also wear it on my right hand.

Yes, I have to totally agree with you that while I thought my stone was beautiful before, it was naked!!!! Now it has a beautiful evening gown, and it really looks its best!!!

The diamond is a 2.3 ct, 8.4mm, I VS1 August Vintage OEC. It was set in my previous Vatche U-113 as a temp setting (for 8 years)! Ring size is 5.5 but I make my rings 5.75. It was recently reset into a beautiful cushion halo by Victor Canera. It's definitely in its final home! (I hate that I don't have a good hand pic of the new setting! The last one is blurry!)

4.01ct I VS1 ACA - 10.3something-or-other in a solitaire by DKJ. Down the bottom is the same stone in a halo of 1/2 pt diamonds, making it 12.5mm from side to side.









.64ct AVR E VS2 - 5.5mm -in a solitaire, then in a Gloria Floria, which ran 13mm from top to bottom, side to side. I absolutely love this ring, and am going to remake it with a 6mm blue sapphire.

Wow! Agree! I am torn. I love solitaires but I think I would prefer old cuts in a halo setting with milgrain and melee.

Personally, I had a hard time deciding what size melee to go. I spent a lot of time was drilling through all the individual halo threads trying to figure what size would be best. I’m hoping these before and afters will help others in a similar predicament.

Oh it’s so beautiful in the halo! My OEC is sitting in a solitaire, but I feel like it needs something more special. I can’t decide what that is - yours is beautiful.
