Apparently he's been listening when I've been yammering at him about pearls, lol. He even told me that he can now recognize good pearls by the luster and orient.

I found a new way to wear pearls - as a belt!

My drop akoya necklace joined with my drop Tahitian necklace made a great belt to highlight the baby bump at an event tonight. I must say, I’ve found a new favourite way to wear pearls :cool2:

Also wearing a vintage akoya bracelet that @yssie very kindly sent to me!

Yes, indeed I did have a great Christmas! I need to figure out a rental plan for hubby, lol. We had seen the bracelet a while ago and I commented then about how much I loved it. When hubby went back to buy it, it had been sold so hubby had another one made.

I had to wait for an 18k gold ball clasp to come back in stock, and thankfully it just restocked so I ordered one! It’s on the way but delayed a little because of the weather :( should arrive sometime next week!
 
I am proud to present my 2 Akoya strands that I DYI string/restring first time. It took 4hrs and no, it is not perfect but I have all the tools so I can restring anytime, cough cough ***.
I did not use glue and skipped gimp on one side of the ball clasp as I can’t get it through the tiny hole. Probably a finer gimp will do but that is for another day.
