I originally bought a single btacelet with the larger 10-12mm pearls from Hisano, but I found myself never reaching for it, it just felt too formal! And I knew that having pearls with overtone differences next to each other is very very very normal with GSS strands, and that's when I learnt that that's something my eyes are especially sensitive to. But I also knew that switching pearls out wasn't a realistic option - just in terms of being able to find replacements without spending a fortune mailing samples out!

A few months later @MakingTheGrade made a bubble akoya bracelet that I loved, so I asked Pearl Paradise if they had any deep smallers, and within a few weeks my rep reached back out saying they had a new batch of 7-9mm... She picked out a handful, and a couple more from other size brackets, and sent the lot out to choose what I wanted. It worked out really well for me, being flexible with size let me keep depth of colour and luster and also graduate overtone with more nuance - and I actually wear them now!

Pearl Paradise strung them originally but I've since redone them probably a dozen times

I don't wear it as a lariat-style necklace as I don't like it.

The basket clasp is only suitable for (I believe) 8mm pearls which are the ones in the last 2in of the necklace.

This allows me to wear it as an 18in necklace which is the norm for a collared shirt/blouse, or extended to 20in if I were to wear it with a top with a deeper neckline.

Larger basket clasps are available from the likes of Bella Findings I believe.

I purchased a pair of Supearl quality pearl, and they just glow. I'm soooooo glad I purchased from their store. Their shipping time was a bit slow but they are honest, fair , won't bubble the price and even deduct tax for shipping outside of Japan.

The quality Is for die for and I purchased from many super popular vendors here including mikimoto in past. They aren't too pink, they just glow.

I think prettybunny was asking previously about choices from General pearl, and think that GP said these were supearl quality luster (but potentially more blemishes, or smaller size, etc). At least that's my best guess given my experience with GP.

Thank you :] they are 8.8mm . And yes they aren't exactly Supearl, but they have small blemish on a backside to get the cost down .
