Wow, these are amazing - LD, Davi, those are some amazing stones - do you make it one of the prerequisites of purchase, or did it surprise you when you checked for fluor?

I like to keep it a surprise on the cheaper stones, if it's going to be a major purchase, I ask. No sense in having an opposing fluor to cancel out the color. Colored fluor that enhances the base color is what you want, if none at all.

I tend to gravitate towards stones that have it - without knowing it! I have no idea why! I must have an inbuilt fluor radar!!! I actually only check about fluor with expensive purchases and specifically diamonds as, as Davi has said, it can affect colour in certain lighting conditions. However, as a rule, I don't specifically ask. I've only ever had one stone where the fluor had a negative effect, other than that it's been positive each time (and a lovely surprise)!

Loving all of the pictures. They all look so cool.

Here is one I took awhile ago. It is a hot pink Burmese spinel and a Mahenge Spinel. The Burmese spinel is the smaller stone.

Fantastic photos!

More more more please! I need my fluor fix!

I haven't forgotten ya'all. My work schedule is sporadic right now so when I have work i have to jump on it. Looks like no work today so I will try my best to get photos today. OHhh better go charge the battery on the camera.

I thought I would jumpstart this thread with a photo of my strong blue pear singing the blues in light shade under a tree. I only recently learned all about blue fluor thanks to PS, and at first I was concerned that my diamond is a strong blue. In direct sun, it turns a pretty shade of light blue and sparkles like crazy, no bad effects, so now I'm glad it has it!

I just took a shot of my M with strong blue floro under blacklight and as I expected the stone lit up but I didn't expect several of the side stones to have red flouro. How cool is that! Can you tell I love flouro too?

LD, I love that collage!

I just recently found out my padparadscha has fluor. Fun!

So many beautiful gems and pics here.
Here's my Fancy Colored Diamond collection, all of natural material and color origin per GIA.

FIrst two pics were taken before I swapped that Fancy Vivid Blue Oval for a Fancy Intense Blue Emerald cut, and added a Fancy Green pear.

Notice how the fluorescing ones illuminated the salt crystals.

Current collection on a brushed silver platter.

The heart that fluoresces hot pic is my favorite for fluor.
The GIA report for the Fancy Deep Purplish Pink Emerald says faint fluorescence, but does not mention the color, I believe it fluoresces white.
GIA says the pear has Strong Yellow fluor, and the radiant has Strong Green fluor.

I ordered a UV Black light off of eBay and it arrived today... and lookie lookie what I found!!! WOO HOO!! :appl: :appl: :appl: These are my BGD studs with the IDJ jackets. The IDJ 1/2 eternity has 3 stones with some degree of fluoro - SOOO COOL!!!

I'm going back into the dark with all of my diamonds, so I can see what other pieces have this secret glow within them!!!
