I'm planning to have a pair made using 10 point diamonds. I'm currently trying to work out how many diamonds I'll need to give me a 1 1/4" hoop, so I can get some idea of cost before I contact the jeweler. I have 24 x 10 pt diamonds, so might not do the whole hoop - perhaps just the front. But I'd love to do the whole thing, if I can just get a sense of how many I might need.

I also have a collection of 1/4ct diamonds, 20 pt diamonds and 6 pt diamonds! So I'd love to see diamond hoop earrings of ALL sizes.

Please tell me the size of the diamonds used, and the diameter.

And if there's already a thread on this - feel free to point my nose in the right direction!

Thank you!

@bling_dream19 - would you pls add your diamond hoops? Could you tell me how many diamonds are in each hoop, what size they are, and the diameter of your earrings? I love your diamond hoops, and would be thrilled to have something similar!

I don't know if there is a specific thread for hoops. I have three pairs of diamond hoops. The largest are 2.53cts and F VS2. They are large and I don't wear them that often. I find myself wearing my hoops that are 1.09cts, E-F VS1s much more often. I find them perfect for daily wear if I want. I also have a small pair of huggies that I can't even tell you the stats it's been so long. I also never wear them and apparently don't have pics of them either, lol.

I love those large hoops, @Catmom! Are there roughly 60 diamonds in them, making them 4 points each? I have a long term goal - upgrade the center stone in my 3 stone and return it to a solitaire. Use the current sides for studs and use my collection of 6 point diamonds to make jackets for them. That's the plan...but we'll see how that goes.

There are 35 in each and they are 1 and 3/8ths in diameter. 10 pointers will be real sparkle bombs! That sounds like a great plan. I used to have jackets for my studs but I never wore them so they got traded in at some point.

Hi @mrs-b I'm glad you love my hoops and thank you for your compliment! You know I value and appreciate your opinion. They are actually from Costco and they are 2.75 ctw I VS2 and super sparkly :kiss2: I love the oval shape and most importantly I love they do not have a hinge where the inside out part starts. I love that there is no space where there is just metal. As always, just my opinion and I certainly love diamonds hoops on everyone. I just found I could not tolerate the metal hinge. So, these oval ones have a push back are just a lovely oval of nonstop diamonds but it's not a complete circle.
There are 14 diamonds on each earring which makes the diamonds .09. I don't have them with me currently but I'll find some pictures. There are 8 diamonds in the front and 6 in the back. 20200613_194800.jpg

I hope this helps! Wow, this is going to be an AMAZBLING in the words of @missy earring project! I'm excited for you:bigsmile: And we do have similar taste in jewels as I love everything you have!

I bought these 14KT white gold petite inside/out diamond hoops with 1.17 total ct weight from Anjolee.com. F/SI2 has 26 x .45 pointers each. I paid $1,264.00 over 8 years ago. Not sure if I could have had them made custom for less back then but always have been very happy with the quality. The same earrings are now $130 less on their website. One of the best jewelry investments I have made since I wear these all the time. So comfortable I often sleep in them forgetting they are on.

@bling_dream19 - I LOVE your hoops! And I love that they're oval and push-back. My biggest concern is them dragging my ear lobes down. I was originally considering a pair like @AGBF's incomparable 5ctw pair, but I really think for me they'd just be too heavy.

I'm going back and forth between a pair very similar to yours with my 10-11 pt diamonds, and a much smaller pair with my 20pt diamonds - 6 diamonds in each earrings, just a curved front with no back at all - push-back setting, 2.4ctw.

For my soli, I'm considering CvB's Abby - which I have loved since the day I saw it. If I do my pseudo-hoops with the 20 point stones I have, I'll use my 10 pointers to do a halo'd opal pendant to round out my opal set, which I would love, I think.

So many options.....

These are awesome! Thank you so much, @luckygreen317! Gives me an idea what my 6pt diamonds would look like in hoops.

These 798F812A-DD61-49C3-B237-D1F61A7731B1.jpeg are 8 point stone hoops totaling 4.16 carats. They were taken from a preloved diamond heart shaped pendant which had 50 G VS2 diamonds. I had to purchase 2 8 pt diamonds so there are 52 total. I don’t think they are very heavy but the post is thicker than normal to fit in a more secure backing. They are 1.25” round. Hope this helps!

Thanks! @mrs-b I love the oval shape and push back too! I do feel a little pull on the lobe. Not major but I feel a little. Yours would have larger diamonds and maybe require less metal therefore reducing the weight. I really don't know, just thinking out loud. I will say I feel very glamorous when I wear my diamond hoops! I think you would look very beautiful in some killer diamond hoops!
Very exciting about changing to a soli! I'll have to look up the Abby. And a halo opal sounds absolutely gorgeous! You got options girl and they are all fabulous!

Check out the AGBF 5 carat hoops on the Whiteflash website. 25 pointers. Those are on my list as soon as the tax return is done.

oh. You mentioned that

Thanks to everyone who posted. I think I'm going to go with a semi circle or 20 pointers - not large, just 6 diamonds in each and a small curve like half a huggie.

These are a ways down the list, but I'll post photos when they're done.

Thank you all! :wavey:
