Hi everyone I am trying to decide which way to go on purchasing a diamond cross. I love the Tiffany shared prong (not the pricetag). I have been looking at Facets and BGD. Would love to see if anyone has these pendants. Don't have time to search right now have to get dinner started. :wavey:

HI:

There is also a thread in jewellery pieces forum dedicated to crosses (some diamond there also...)

cheers--Sharon

I am getting the small Tiffany one for Christmas from a seller that used to be on ebay with a lot good feedback and now is making his own site due to the high paypal and ebay fees. He gets some Tiffany items that were brand new but returned to the store, so a lot of his stock is basically new. He doesn't have everything up on his site yet, so ask if there is something else you want. He has multiple sizes in some of the rings so you have to ask if he has your size on some of them. I don't pay Tiffany retail if I can help it. But I do think a Tiffany piece is going to be more of an heirloom than a generic one of the same style. Just FYI, he took $100 off the price. I paid by cashiers check. The one I got is in perfect condition and it came within 3 days of my payment.

Here is mine. I love how dainty it is but it still has presents. I spent HOURS (literally) searching for one in my budget and had the look I wanted. I ran into the issue that any sites selling diamond cross necklaces that the prices were outrageous! I mean-700+$ for .25ctw without a chain. Unreal.

I finally found on on craigslist (I took a risk) from a gal who worked at a jewelery store and bought hers with her discount. I got it for a great deal and had it shipped internationally (which I don't recommend lol) but I'm so happy it panned out.

It's not a great photo-sorry. It's next to a very poor picture of my .5 OEC martini stud (it's 1ctw pair) just for comparison.

Funny you should ask.

A few years ago my SO wanted a diamond cross pendant but wanted to cruise the pawn shops for one.
I could not believe the enormous selection given you'd think that's something people would not part with.

Just a thought.

Thank's everyone, Mayk and Vintagelover your pendants are lovely and both very different. Sharon I did check out that thread or at least one of them, I think you have the Tiffany don't you?, although wasn't on the thread I found. Still trying to get used to this new website, lol. Diamondseeker thank's for the info, I have checked out his ebay site on ocassions  there are some nice pieces could have some fun there. I particularly want the mid size appr 90pt, so I will email him. I tried the 0.50ct on on in Tiffany's in Hawaii, and then back home in Melbourne but for me, the larger was better. Would love to see a pic of your cross, your rings have always been a favourite of mine.

Kenny that sounds like fun, did you find one? :wavey:

Aren't you sweet, thanks! Yes, the small one is very delicate. I'll have pictures after Christmas. I could see myself having the larger one, too! The medium is really expensive, though, so that one might still be really high even with the discount. But definitely ask him as he told me he doesn't have everything on the site yet plus I assume he'll get new things in.

Also, check with ID Jewelry. I just helped my brother pick out one for his wife from them. It's very similar to Bliss's cross pendant (hers is IDJ as well, 1.85 tcw, see pic). The one my brother ordered is 1.1 tcw. They were really great to work with. I don't have pics yet, but will post some after he gives it to her for Christmas!!

Yes, great memory! My cross is on the first page, third entry down. I utterly adore my Tiffany cross--I bought from the old "Signed Pieces" Estate. I'll NEVER part with that baby--it is as bright as you can get and the carat weight perfect for me. I love the price I paid for it too! Good luck in your search..I'll keep my eye peeled...

cheers--Sharon

Sharon, I remembered your getting that Tiffany cross and I have had one on my list ever since! I was glad to finally find one in basically new condition for a relatively better price than they sell for on ebay. I remember that you got a great deal on yours, but those kinds of deals are getting harder to find!

Altho I wear mine alone, I really love it layered--two or three at a time and mixed colors.....what about you?

My husband asked me the other day what I wanted for Christmas and I said, "Well, as a matter of fact, I have already ordered it to save you the trouble!" Lol! He doesn't care because he knows I am happiest when I pick out my own jewelry!

I actually want to occasionally layer mine with a DBY necklace! The Tiffany ones are so high even second hand that I might have to get one custom made at WF. But I'll see what I can find at the time. I would switch around between the Tiffany and the Roberto Coin probably. Right now I just wear the RC one 24/7 and never take it off. I also got a little larger antique cross for last Mother's Day, and I need to take a picture of that one to add to the cross thread. Your emerald and gold cross is magnificent! I just looked back through that thread!

Diamondseeker I have contacted the Vendor you mentioned, so I will wait a response. I have never seen the mid size for sale only the one you and Sharon have and the extra large 1.87ct - I love them all but after trying them on in Tiffany's I have to say the mid size was best for me. I will keep you updated if I hear back

Taylorbug thank's for the link I had a look and yes there are some gorgeous crosses.

Dani, thank's also - I look forward to seeing the 1.1ct your brother has purchased. The cross belonging to Bliss is beautiful, it seems I D Jewellry make very similar to the Tiffany design I will check out their website. The Tiffany has to be my favourite by far :wavey:

Yes, I'll have to get a pic.

So true, probably hard to find the medium size second hand. Do let me know if you hear back from him, though!

Hi Diamondseeker, I received a response from the Vendor you mentioned and he seems lovely. There is a 0.50ct available not the midsize at the moment. The price is about 1k under rec retail, does that sound right? I also received a quote on the ID one which looks very similar (see Dani pics posted on Bliss's) I don't know if it's platinum or WG but it is lovely and the size would be 1.10ct , the price is extremely reasonable. Dani will post pics of her brother's partners after Xmas, so I am looking forward to seeing those.

I might go try on the half carat again in store, only this time of year in Tiffany's is a nightmare, lol

I feel silly in asking--what is "a mid-size"...1 ctw?

cheers--Sharon

Sharon, I had to look it up, too! Here is the link. They sell 4 sizes and the medium is .90 ctw.

Monny, yes, $1k under retail for the small one (close to 40% off). I thought it was a great price considering it is in basically new condition.

You'll also have to ask IDJ about the metal and diamond quality if you want Tiffany quality. I think their standard pricing may be 14k wg and the diamonds are SI1 whereas the Tiffany would be platinum and VS. I'd still probably want that if I went with unbranded.

Diamondseeker you are correct, IDJ price would be for a stock pendant not custom made as to Tiffany specs. They still look very nice but the Tiff has that something special about it. Are you going to post yours on the cross thread - (are you allowed to have it before Christmas :naughty: My dh wants to buy mine for Christmas too!

Well, mine looks just like the one Sharon just posted from ebay that is in the blue velvet box! I am technically not supposed to have it until Christmas! My vendor's price was less than all of those except the one that has the $1500 bid on it (and we don't know how high that one will go). The advantage to mine over than one is that mine has a return policy, which is nice. However, I will say again that mine is in basically new condition, so I think it was a great buy.

I think the different sizes would be worn differently. The small one would be worn on a 16" chain and would peek through a shirt opening or sit just below a t-shirt neckline. The medium size could be worn on an 18"-20" chain and be worn out over a turtleneck or something like that. I really wouldn't mind having both sizes. But I did feel that the Tiffany had more heirloom value. And after seeing it, I do love the platinum. The small Tiffany is affordable second hand, so I am glad I got the Tiffany for that size. But for affordability reasons, I might get a 1 ct. one made by someone else because of the price difference (not to mention the Tiffany one is hard to find).

Dani, please be sure to post pics of the 1.1ctw from IDJ when you can. I quoted IDJ on that one awhile back and it was very reasonable!
