I have always had a thing for BIG RINGS!!!!
I am in love with cocktail rings, and will surely have one when I can afford it!
These are to die for!

Well, I could post the one I just ''killed'' - I took the center stone out to put in my other setting. This was a ring DH''s aunt gave me. Not my style; would probably never wear it. Some have suggested putting a colored stone where the center diamond was. Others say use the diamonds for recycling projects. For now, I am going to do nothing.

OFG, since you are using the center stone for your Quest ring, I think I''d probably recycle the rest, too. If it were mine, I''d probably consider a DBY project for the smaller stones and perhaps earrings with the 2 side stones. It was a pretty ring, though. I just wouldn''t have much of an occasion to wear it either.

DS, I must admit, that was my first thought even when she gave it to me. It was a pretty ring, in some ways, and kind of neat the way it was constructed, but I just know it would never be "me" to wear it as is, and I can''t picture DH''s sister, or her daughters ever really wearing it either. So I had also thought, maybe someday make earrings out of the side stones, and maybe do something with the small ones. Then there would be several pieces of jewelry from Aunt''s ring, that DH''s nieces could inherit and actually wear!

Sorry to ask a dumb question though, what is a DBY project?

Aha, I thought of what it might stand for - diamonds by the yard? But I''m still not really clear on what that is.

he wore it home from the jeweler, and it has never seen the light of day since....

Okay, now that we are clear on what a cocktail ring is, let''s see ''em!!!!

I''m trying to play catch-up. I lost a week of my life because of post-op pain and the pain meds have dulled my little brain.

Did we define what a cocktail ring is?? LOL! I may have slept through that! (I wish I were kidding.....) Let me know what we''re calling a cocktail ring so I know what to take pictures of! Esplain Lucy, esplain!
