I just put up my tree this evening and will post a few pics later. It''s my first Christmas in my new condo and even though there isn''t a ton of space here, I definitely wanted a tree in addition to my other small decorations. I picked up a 6.5 foot Artificiola with white lights at a local store. It''s all decked out in red and white and silver ornaments with snowmen on them. I didn''t see any toppers I liked, so I made my own out of some red and silver ribbon. Mine looks like a teeny, pathetic little ''Charlie Brown tree'' next to some of the ones I''ve seen here so far.

Pics to share of my little tree:

HH, I am so sorry about your ornaments. I can just imagine how upsetting that was.

Loving all the trees! We just picked ours up this morning, and won''t decorate for at least another week.

Here is my big tree...

And here is my little one. This one has all the Hallmark ornaments we have been collecting since we got married. It''s a bit more sentimental and we keep it in the family room on top of a table so the baby can''t reach for it.

I have one more fiberglass one, but I didn''t take a picture of it.

I am Jewish but growing up with a Catholic mom we had a huge tree. I loved the time of year, decorating it with all the pretty ornaments that we collected over the years...I remember stringing popcorn and cranberries, having hot cocoa and decorating together, my area of the tree never too balanced since I was little and could only place the ornaments in a small area.

Butterfly, I love houses with the little white twinkle lights, I think it looks so elegant! I would want to keep them up all year round!

If you keep a real tree in a base the can keep water in it, does that help?

I always loved sneaking down the hall at night and seeing the tree all lit up, the glow was so cozy to me with the fire embers dying down. I do miss that feeling, fun though Hannukah can be, it lacks that sense to me that Christmas has. Caroling, the smells of trees and cookies baking, I just love it.

Very beautiful butterfly

Oh I love

this thread!

I was clicking through my favorites, and found this site I saved long ago. When I saw the photo of the puppies and the tree...I thought it was a great idea for fellow pser to consider say on a desk top tree or one in a bedroom. It would be fun and you could pull this theme off cheaply...if you were willing to do some work.

Tiffany themed tree!! Use the turquoise balls as they did...but add Wrapped turquoise boxes/with white ribbon bows and stick them here and there in the tree. Drape the tree in pearls, and silver beads. White ribbon and bows and feathery snowy stuff. I think it would be really a great look! Need dbty garland!

You could do a Cartier tree too. More appropriate in color for the season...the red box and gold details.

Sams club had a flyer made up this year and in it a tree was draped and bejeweled with their holiday jewelry collection. It was a small table top tree...but it was spectacular!!!

What lovely Christmas trees, everyone. They are BEAUTIFUL. Many look like they belong in fancy store displays. So nice! I *LOVE* Christmas!!

This is from last year. We''re still finishing the decorating this year, but it will look very much the same.

Lol, about the only thing in the living room is the tree -- old furniture went away today and new stuff comes tomorrow -- just in time for Christmas, yippy!

My cats like to drink the water out of the tree stand. I have to refill it twice as often!
Hudson Hawk-- we got a new tree stand this year from Lowes and it''s cat proof!!! Mine drank out of ours all the time, and this year... they are OUT OF LUCK! http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=90576-62860-103F-12&lpage=none

It''s funny mine don''t climb trees, but Hally, in years past, has removed ornaments and pooled them all in a stash for herself. Haven''t noticed it this year, yet though. 90% of my ornaments are glass and crystal, so I''m very lucky.

We''ve never had a Noble Fir while we''ve had the cats (only Fraiser Firs on the east coast) an d Duncan treats the fallen needles like catnip.

I love all the cat stories.

FG, I ADORE Holly. But I do not envy you the task of keeping her away from that tree!

Roaring with laughter here, because you have no idea how many craft projects I''ve tried (and failed at) in my life. I do not have one crafty gene in my body. The only thing I seem to be able to make is Trouble with a capital "T"
11.gif
. Bought them at Target.

LOL Mat, Don''t worry you are not alone. I am not a crafty person either. I envy my girlfriends who are. They make the cutest things with their grandchildren. I am a klutz. HA!!!

Oh Hudson I''m sorry. That''s so painful!

We lost 90% of our ornaments when I was 15 including all of the yearly ones my family had bought me up until that point. We went out and bought a ton of ornaments that year, and now every year my mom and some other family members buy me at least one ornament. It''s been lovely rebuild the collection, and everytime I lose one (which fortunately hasn''t happened to often) my heart breaks a little... but still remember all the lost ones, every year when I open the storage bin I miss them.
15.gif

((HUGS)) for the loss of your ornaments.

Thanks Diamonfan, LindaW, SanDiegoLady and everyone else. I am sorry about your ornaments Hudson.
