Obviously different gemstones come in at different specific gravity- but a 5ct cut off should meant they’re all large lol.

My 9 carat deep blue aqua from Nigeria. I bought this stone around 27 years ago.

Cuprians. One is violet (cushion) and the other is purple. The blue one is 12 carats, but faces up small because it’s deep. All three come with gIT copper bearing lab briefs.

I’ve posted my emerald a few times before, it is 15 carats, Colombian. Not the perfect specimen by any means but it is huge and glowy and IMO the perfect color, I also love the retro setting!


This is my new purchase it is a 14 carat Rwanda amethyst from Moriartys. I have wanted a really nice amethyst ring for ages. I believe it was you @T L who has mentioned this material before, so when I saw this stone in the right cut and size on Insta I grabbed it. It’s currently being made into a Art Deco style halo ring by DK.

This neon rubellite was my gift to my mom last year. She didn’t take good picture of this piece and finally today she took a nice picture. Main stone is 10+ct. 15mm*14mm giant rubellite cabochon from Afghanistan.

The cushion purple/blue sapphire on the middle finger is 5+ carats.
Though the star sapphire looks bigger, it is shy of 5 carats, if I recall correctly.
The ovals are too small to be mentioned in this thread.

I just happened across her as I was searching for comparables for another stone. The other stone was much cleaner, but she just spoke to me and knew I had to see her in person.

I am working with a jeweler to remove the sapphire in her setting from the circle pendant and make her into a ring.

@peacechick I am excited to see how she turns out, the jeweler is kind of pushing for just adding a shank and cleaning up her current home, to preserve her current setting. I tend to lean towards ring projects so I can enjoy the piece myself-I feel like I need more fingers
