DW is definitely not a one percenter, maybe she should be called a five carater! :mrgreen2:

11.50ct Green Beryl

6.65ct Pink Tourmaline

8.18ct Hot Pink Tourmaline

Haha, her ring collection has expanded since I was last active here. I concede, 5 Carater member sounds right!

@peacechick that is very nice of you to say that. Thank you. I know my size 7 fingers can carry it. I love the stone and I love the setting. I just have found around 3 carats is as much as I want to do. I would wear Beryl for special occasions but honestly we don't have a lot of those. It's been a hard lesson to learn. There are just somethings that look so beautiful and special but they just don't work with your life style. Makes me sad. I am taking a big hit on it. If it doesn't sell at this price, I will keep it. If I wear it twice a year so be it. I do love it, I just want to shrink it down to a size 3 carat. :)

This is a 11mm Portuguese cut amethyst. Approximately 5.6 carats. I set it in a pre notched silver setting. Not too bad for a first attempt.

Well done, it looks nice and secure! Please post it in the Self-Set thread. I love a Portuguese cut.

Here are some of mine. My avatar pic is 5.89ct unheated sapphire. 6.47ct light blue sapphire. 7.5ct+ malaia garnet currently set in silver because I bought her preloved. Planning on setting her later in the year. And my 6.69ct opal currently being set! I do have several amethysts, a 16 ct kunzite, and fluorite in gem jars that are 10+ cts that will never be set. I just love to look at them as they are. Screenshot_20181104-214534_eBay.jpg Screenshot_20190401-183532_eBay.jpg 20210223_091153.jpg Screenshot_20190619-155448_Chrome.jpg

I know you’ve listed it but honestly don’t feel it’s too big for you. It’s beautifully bezeled too.

Thank you @peacechick, that is very nice of you to say that. I love this ring. It does hurt to let it go. I just really do need it 2 carats smaller. She is gorgeous! She deserve's to have someone love her and wear her too. Thank you!

It may be a green beryl, but it has an insanely beautiful OEC cut. Stones like this for sure don't come along every day!!!

Couldn't you wear it on Saturday nights, even if you are just staying home?

You could pretend you are having dinner at a swanky French restaurant, and showing off the most gorgeous ring in the place! =)2

I wear rings with pajamas. Lol Big rings do have a cumbersome factor to them. I forget about my little rings, but I can feel the big ones all day. I like big bling enough to push through it, but I do wear my smaller ones more frequently.

@prs I know they don't come around every day. She is a rare beauty. If only she was 3 carats!!!!

I could do that, but I know I won't . I have a good imagination but I don't know if I could pretend that much ;-)

Thank you for saying such lovely things about the stone.

It has crossed my mind to see about having it recut to 3 or so carats...

I have a few 4ct+ CSs, here are the ones that I am definitely going to set.

From Jeff White:

This Aqua is 6.16ct, and I hope to set this before 2021 is out:

This stone is going to be set as a slider pendant:

JW_Danburite_18.80ct_17.84x17.84mm.PNG

This blue Asscher cut Zircon is 7.04ct, and I too hope to set this before the year is out:

Both my natural blue Topaz from Doug Menadue are over 4ct: a 8.15ct Asscher and a 6.65ct Supernova oval, the latter is the larger of the two ovals in the group pic; however, I am not certain which of the 3 large Asschers is my stone:

The Asscher Topaz has been set, however, I don't like the setting, so it is waiting to be reset.

DK :))
