Show me thin engagement bands with thicker wedding bands!

My pear re-set designs are flowing thick & fast, even though I want a plain cathedral style setting. There is still so much detail to consider & questions about EXACTLY what I want. Because next year my husband is having a 2nd eternity made with the original engagement ring diamonds, I have just had a thought about having the new pear shank made at 2mm or less, to allow the extra finger real estate for 4 stacked rings.

Can you please show me pics of plain shank bands that are thinner than their plain wedding ring partners? Do they look beautiful? My wedding ring was made to the same dimensions of my original engagement, which was a chunky, rounded, heavy 3mm. The current pear setting is 2.5mm & heavy, so not much difference to the eye & I'm struggling to visualize....

Great minds think alike. I have also been looking for pictures of sets where the wedding band is wider than the engagement ring. I found these two threads:

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/thick-wedding-bands-with-thin-erings.158163/

https://www.pricescope.com/communit...tures-of-wearing-10mm-wide-plain-band.183181/

I also found some interesting photos of ring sets that I'm going to post in the first thread (to keep it all together rather than having some of it here and some of it there).

Beautiful rings ladies! I am definitely right that it looks good - the bands don't look odd by being different widths.

What I am also right about is how fabulous this forum is. It's the only way you can get many different perspectives within a very short time of asking so that you can get an idea of how things will look in real life. Thanks everyone! :appl:

I love people with wide rings, they look so classy...

I used to have that. I didn't like that the thicker band obscured the bottom outline of my stone from my vision, kwim?. I would prefer to be able to see the full roundness of the stone.

Here is mine set for now. The shank width in the engagement ring is 1.8mm and the wedding band is around 3.2 mm.

Thanks Kayla! This is quite an old thread & my new setting was completed a few years back, but I'm sure others will benefit from seeing these pictures again. And what do you mean your set "for now"??!! More plans?????? :geek:
