Shouldn''t BIG diamonds sparkle just as much?

Hey strangers!

I''m back finally.......I went to an event last night and the woman across the table from me had on the biggest RB I''ve ever seen in person! She said it was a 4.5 carat. That thing didn''t shine or sparkle or gleam at all. It looked like dirty glass. The sheer size of it caught my attention.

I don''t know if it wasn''t real or it was dirty or what. Could a poor cut do that? I''m not using the right lingo here, but you know when look down into a diamond and you can see glitters and facets? This one had none, dull as doorknob. Any thoughts?

Well, not quite that bad, but close. It did have facets around the outside edges (not sparkling) but no action in the middle. It did look dull like that though.
